I don't think anyone seriously believes that. After thoroughly watching so much video on it, though, you're right about one thing: it was thousands of Vancouverites that participated. Quite sickening.

If anyone else is following the story, the moron who lit a cop car on fire had a full ride to the University of Calgary and a possible spot on the Canadian Water Polo team. His father's supposedly a very prestigious doctor.

Definitely a lot of males, dude, but I'd say that's the case for most riots. No matter the territory.

However, I did see quite a few women participating in the festivities as well. Kicking down windows, and robbing stores of merchandise.


There's also a few videos going around of some guys that tried to stop the rioting, and got jumped for their efforts. Sickening, really. As most riots are.


But to see something like this happen in North America after a hockey game - in 2011 no less - is quite disgusting.

the mayor of the city screwed up big time... tried to fly in under budget as there is an election this fall. Vancouver police who were not put on duty volunteered their time on their own dime as they knew a recipe for disaster was brewing.

There was rioting at the Atlanta 1996 Summer Games. So it happens in both of our neighbourhoods.

LMAO...a few things:

1. To compare what happened in Atlanta because of a car bomb, to what happened in Vancouver(because of hockey) is quite stupid. Regardless, Atlanta is WIDELY regarded as a cesspool. It's disgusting. High crime rates, poverty, homeless, etc. The scales of each of them were far different as well. What happened in Vancouver was far, FAR worse than what happened in Atl. Riots happen for a multitude of reason: race, injustice, etc. Hockey? Only in Vancouver.

And on a DISGUSTING scale.

2. That was 15 YEARS AGO. You would think that people would adapt eventually to stupidity. That this kind of crap would no longer be an issue ten years into the 21st century.

Apparently, Vancouverites don't count. As they rioted for hockey in 94. And they did so again in 2011. And - like reports have already stated - they were going to riot win or lose.

Seeing 30-100 people jump a single man because he was standing up for the city makes me sick - as it should make you sick as well.

This was by no means a few people. This was THOUSANDS of Canadian cowards that decided they wanted to revert your country back to the Stone Age.

You'll get over it, I'm sure. But expect the Canucks(and the city) to have a black eye over it for quite some time.


For Christ' sake there were reports of police officers being bitten!!! Just like the Canucks' hero, Burrows! Hahahahahahahahaha!

Typical ignorant American talking about us Canadians. Silly as ever. And bumblebee, yeah like I haven't heard about the whole, "We are a nuclear power!" Guess what, many countries are, get over it! I always laugh at the last one because of the nuclear fall out... 90 percent of Canada lives within an hour of the American border.
