I'm shocked at the riots. A very classless move by a drunken bunch of people. I don't condone the rioting or the destroying of property... but I definitely feel where those people are coming from. They are people who supported their team so much, that when the team lost in a blaze of shame on the biggest stage of hockey, for the biggest prize... I can imagine most people would be overcome with rage, anger, hate, etc. and the need to do violence.

Again, not condoning here. I think what they did was terrible, and the people who caused everything are lucky they didn't kill anyone. Next time they need to take their rage out on a bottle of Jack Daniels or some Molson.

The game was, well, there are no proper words to describe how disappointing the game was. The canucks played very well at the start, they had a good speed to their game and were putting many shots on the goal. Unfortunately they weren't able to capitalize on any. Thomas is very deserving of the Conn Smythe. He put up a heck of a defense in front of the posts. Luongo is a shell of himself now. We got the bad Luongo last night, the one that chokes under pressure, and it's sad to see the Home team shut out on their own ice in Game 7 of the Finals. I blame 70% of the loss on Luongo. The goals he let in are exactly that. He let them in. They were all easily stoppable, yet after that first one, he just didn't show any fire anymore. And I'm sure every Canuck fan knew that.

Our defense was lacking with the absence of Hamhuis and Rome. Bieksa just isn't the same without his partner in crime. And the lack of Raymond was also felt, especially with the Sedins and Kesler being MIA this series. It was a team loss. At any point in this series they could have stepped up and won a game in Boston, but they never showed up to those. So, it's sad to say, but I think it's deserving of them to lose like they did. The Canucks did not play like Stanley Cup champions this series. Hopefully they do in future seasons.

PS. Luongo needs to go. Buy him out, trade him for a two-four and a Nanaimo bar, whatever. But we need a new franchise goalie, because Luongo is not ours.

Great picture, especially when you notice the Orr pic in the background.

That isn't the fans bumblebee. You stay classy. That's a few bad apples who use the whole experience as means to bring out their buttholeness. Don't confuse the real fans and the _______s who are using this as a reason to start crap.

:rotfl Look again at the riot coverage and tell me its "a few". There was ALOT of people in that riot. I'm just saying 94 they lost and had a riot....2011 they lost and had a riot....there's a pattern there.

2 Things:

1. Most Canucks fans that I talk to believe they would've rioted even if they won. Stop making excuses.

2. Why in the hell would you be shocked? They did the same thing 17 years earlier!

:rotfl

Obviously this isn't the first time a bunch of idiot fans have rioted after a sports game, but hockey fans should be better than that. I could better understand if there was a blown call that lead to the game winning goal, (like Hull's foot in the crease) but to get beat out right without question is childish. Thanks for the black eye on the hockey world Vancouver.

I don't doubt that people would have rioted in celebration. It's a given. I don't think it would have been as extreme had the canucks managed to pull a win out of their *****. Am I shocked at the riots even though there was one 17 years prior? Yes. Just as I'd be to see one after a win. It's simply shocking to see people turning over police cars and lighting them on fire, even if it is expected.

Looking at the countless pictures on facebook (which interestingly enough are being put to use to identify the looters and rioters —crazy digital/social media age we live in compared to '94 where there were no cellphone cameras) I'm pretty happy we didn't lose the Gold Medal Game in the Olympics. This is bad enough, but for something like this to happen under the international spotlight? Bullet dodged. Grow up Vancouver.

they don't care. they have free health care.:lecture

BC Premier wants to set an example and have anyone who was out there who captured this debacle on camera/cell/smartphones to release the images and/or videos to the proper authorities so they can publish the persons who were involved what went down in the riot. Best way to punish them is put their face and name together for the public to see. That will show those idiots that there are consequences to their stupidity.

i will bet heavily that each and every one of the "anarchists" do not reside in the Vancouver area. dogs don't crap where they sleep. they will be identified and charged, and exposed as the wealthy white trash suburban piss ants that they are.
