Calgary got _____ slapped in the 2nd period... 6 goals! WOWSERS!

And who said Tim Thomas was finished? 6 wins in 6 games to go along with 3 shutouts, .50 GAA, and a .984 save percentage.

All these games they are losing to lesser teams will cost them, they cant afford to be giving them away. Fleury has ALWAYS had a history of letting in softies. They NEED to play the person that gives them the best chance of winning and it may never be Fleury again, and personally if you could find someone to take that contract Id trade him in a heart beat. He never was, he isnt right now and he will never be that good.

So perhaps we should hire you as the Penguins new GM. You seem to know so much... free your phone this week, Mario is going to be giving you a call. Your time is now kid. Get ready to answer.

Solid win for the Caps, came out a bit slow again but turned it on and never looked back in the 2nd. Glad to see Green finally found the back of the net.

Youre a douche on so many levels.

Im not the one writing essays or carrying on about my hockey knowledge on a daily basis. People state their opinion, and you ALWAYS chime in on why they are wrong, cuz your the hockey guru of this forum.

Go watch a moose game

Says the guy with the name "Deeznutz"... I never name called you, so don't stoop to such low levels. I just think it's ignorant to forget what a guy has done over a huge span of time vs. a small sampling. Also, you seem so hard on being the new Pens GM with your bold confident thoughts. So, why not apply? I am pushing you man to be the very best you can be! Might as well wave Malkin too while we're at it since he hasn't been up to his former 08/09 standards. *shakes head* Don't get mad.

I will watch a Moose game, ah thank you very much. I don't need your permission there. ;)

Anyway, moving along from the disgruntled poster, what does everyone think about all of these goalie controversies going around?

i don't know but i've been paying attention to Halak lately. he let a few quick ones in last night and the Blues played pretty sloppy. the refs weren't helping them out either so i thought the game was pretty much over by the 3rd period. but i guess the real Blues showed up in the last minutes and tied it up with 2 quick goals. sent the game into a shootout where Halak stopped them for another win. outstanding comeback.

By goalie controversies I meant...

Cory Schneider outplaying Roberto Luongo

Tim Thomas winning back his No. 1 status, after everyone had written him off. More mind blowing are the numbers 6-0-0, 3 SO, .50 GAA, .984 Save Percentage. Tuukka Rask, who?

Brent Johnson taking over the reigns from Marc-Andre Fleury.

Steve Mason being out played and performed by Mathieu Garon...

Carey Price actually living up to past expectations. By that I mean the expectations that he would become a solid and very capable NHL starter after falling from grace over the past two seasons. Not to mention he had a horrible preseason, heightened by 9 goals allowed in 90 minutes of hockey. That put a scare in a lot of Canadien fans. Okay, so he's been inconsistent, but he still has been solid. Either way, Hab Nation has some relief knowing that Price has been one of the more capable starters thus far this season despite so many other big name starters from years past off to mediocre starts.

Antero Nittymaki outplaying Antti Niemi a former Cup winning goalie.

The whole Philadelphia goalie situation....

So on and so forth.

I'll add by saying, it's been interesting seeing guys not getting the games and/or playing to their former levels in your Brodeurs, Masons, Varlamovs (I know, he is hurt), Luongos, Fleurys, and your Millers. It's an interesting time. More than ever the goaltender position is unpredictable.

Tim Thomas played injured most of last season.
He's finally healthy and it shows. Are the Bruins for real this year or what?

Carey has a different goalie coach, and it shows. Everyone seems to be aiming for the glove side, and finally, he's ready for it.

Philly, well, what would Philly be without a goalie issue? Now it's time for some of their players to get suspended for intent to injure. All is well in Philly.

Luongo is highly overrated. He's good. However, in my eyes, he's not the cream of the crop as he been touted. I'd take Miller over him any day.

If Antti Niemi was all that, Chitown would have found a way to sign him.

What amazes me is that he went to the same NYC doctor that Mike Lowell of the Red Sox went to for the same hip surgery. Lowell looked like he could barely walk and retired after this season. So far Thomas is flopping around like the Timmy of old.:lol I'm happy for his start and hope they ride him for as long as he's hot, but pretty soon they'll have to setup a rotation between the two.

They are for real as long as the injury bug stays away. The turning point of last year's collapse was Krejci's injury. Having him back and healthy has the first line cranking with Horton who's finally the goal scorer they needed and Lucic who finally may reach his offensive potential this year.

If it's not this year, we're stuck with the same core players for quite a while due to all the contracts Chiarelli's been giving away lately.

The Devils seem to be a chicken and egg situation with Brodeur. Brodeur has looked awful at best, but then again so has his defense.

Brodeur, for as good as he is (was?), still always managed to let a bizarre goal in every game or two. A sharp angle shot where he wasn't holding the post, the old Brodeur nemesis the wraparound, those kinds of goals. But these are happening more frequently, and he hasn't even looked good on your average scoring opportunity or even an innocent looking shot.

sorry. i don't follow that many teams. i only pay attention to about 5 teams or so. but i have seen lots of goalie changes in mid game this year. seems like more than usual but i haven't really followed hockey since the lockout so maybe things have changed since then.
