A couple of years ago, I was struck by a puck when my helmet visor came off after a check. It was not a pretty sight. When I got stitched up, the doc said I was very lucky. The puck missed my left eye by a mere cm.

Well in my basketball career Ive had under and over my eyes stitched several times, numerous chipped teeth, fractured elbow, about 100 ankle sprains, broken hand, torn ligaments in my hands and a detached cornea. im sure more too, but whatever. you guys are clueless.

Being an undersized white boy for my position, yes I was a hustler. I backed up Bryon Russell, the guy who played for Utah on the other end of the Famous Jordan finals shot.

Well at least u got the job done. Nothing wrong with being a hustler. But I still say Hockey is a tougher sport all around.

Well hockey is a tougher sport. they basically allow you to punch eachother in the face and body slam. by the way I'm only 39.. *sighs* Also I never mentioned tougher I said basketball has the best athletes so relax tough guys. Im sure I'll be going to some kings games in the future w/ my new client.

Are u talking about best talent or all around athletes? Talent maybe but that's only like a very select few. But all around athletes, not even close. I can say F1 drivers are even better athletes then any NBA players.

The athletes are much better in the NHL than the NBA.

For starters they have class. Come to games wearing suits. They are more approachable.

Also, it's not just the physical toughness of hitting in hockey. Screw the fighting. That's such a small portion of the game, and isn't in every league at every level.

The toughness and skill is mental in just the fact you're playing on skates. You're not only learning one sport, but two. Skating and the game of hockey itself. The speed of it. It's intensity level. It's just a better all-around game.

Now get out of here. Enough about the basketball stuff or we'll go into your NBA thread and talk hockey this and hockey that. See how well that goes over.
