Re: 2013 NHL Season

They are only 5 points out, they need to string together some wins at the right time

An ugly 13 but iIll take it

Re: 2013 NHL Season

You never know, they might make it- stranger things have happened in the league! :lol

Like the Flyers being being down 3-0 to the Bruins in the 2010 playoffs and winning 4 straight. :horror :lol

Regarding Philly though, in the current era of 3 point games it will be very difficult for them to make it. Currently, they have 5 teams to pass just to get to the 8th slot.

Or the Devils being down 3-1 to the Flyers then winning 3 straight on their way to their second Stanley Cup.
Or the 95 Devils being huge underdogs against Detroit and sweeping them for their first cup.
Or the Devils winning their third Stanley Cup and JS Giguere winning the Conn Smythe over Martin Brodeur.

Re: 2013 NHL Season

Habs tied it up in the last what? eight secs?..good game.

PP for the Bruins in OT..this might be over now. XD

:lol Oh Tukka...

I see that Iggy was a healthy scratch this evening... perhaps the rumours of him going to Boston are true. Hopefully they can pay his salary.

Iginla to S$itsburgh! Pens are going to have a cap nightmare on their hands. Now I know why Eli and Deez are Pens fans. It's easy. Nowadays they have all the great players and big name talent. They've become the Rangers only better.

We're fine. We had the cap space. Who knows if we even sign Iginla. He might be just a rental. Well, depends.... I am certain some guys will take the home discount, especially to be a part of something special like this. This team is scary good on paper.

Also, can't blame Jay Feaster entirely on the return. Jarome Iginla, much like Brenden Morrow controlled their fate. The deal was directed by them. Sorry Boston, but Ray Shero trolled you big-time.

Props to Shero and Mario for adding to a team that already looked pretty damned stacked.

Yeah, I was excited last night and then pretty disappointed first by the game and then the trade that wasn't. I think right now the Bruins really need to add another defenceman and then worry about adding another forward. Hopefully they stay clear of whatever San Jose is asking for Clowe. I wonder what the price is for Marty St. Louis?

Re: 2013 NHL Season

I'm really shocked that the Pens picked up Iginla- the cost was high though, I wouldn't have given up a first-round pick for an aging captain.

They'll be a huge Cup contender though!

Shero fleeced the Flames, only because Iginla dictated where he wanted to go and had the Boston deal turned down, despite the opinion it was better (exactly that, an opinion), because it can turn out better for the Flames going with the Pittsburgh package in time.

For a guy who scored 43 goals last year, a captain, a winning attitude, and already a Cup champion (check Game 6 in the 2004 SCF Gelinas game winning goal, it was legitimately a good goal and was called off because Gary wanted a non hockey market to get the Cup), it was a damn good deal. The Pens didn't give up any big name prospects (I like Agostino).... point is, that was a damn good deal. Anyone who thinks otherwise is ignorant towards the talent the Pens received.

I will say this, the Flames should have traded Iggy a couple years ago when he had more value.

We are fans as the team is exciting, Devils should take notes. When all is said and done NO one will ever remember the Devils for the premium talent they have put on the ice that hasnt worn a goalie mask

Pens
Lemeiux
Jagr
Crosby
Malkin

Devils
.....

Stop being a hater and give credit where credit isdue, Shero sees an oppportunity and goes for it, cant fault him for that it won the Pens a cup

Do I like having Iginla for sure, did it cost us to much dont think so, but I dont see why we needed him, we are rolling w/o him and Dupius and Kuntz are scorinig more than anyone else in the league.
