Check out Nick Hill's Leonidas tattoo (he is just calling it a Spartan, because he plays for Michigan St, MSU) but it is obviously based on my companies ARH Studios sold out Leonidas 1/6!
I have to say its very cool!! I hope he knows it was done by us!

Its too bad no credit was given to ARH! :gah:

To be honest I would be pissed as hell if I wanted an original Leonidas tattoo and then found out it was a copy of a statue. :lecture

Agreed, but what can ARH studios do? Unfortunate situation for them, but awesome ink nonetheless :D

We are not upst about this! My AP Leo looks just like the tattoo. The guy is going to law school and is smart, plus MVP

ARH is very proud! And it's good publicity anyways
We are almost sold out of our 1/4 Leo too :yess:

If he finds out he should be pissed is my point. It's a beautiful statue. However I trust my tattoo artist in making my original ideas come to life. If I found out he ripped off something like this I would be fuming. I doubt the player knows this is what happened.

We will soon find out, Im doing my best to contact him

Good luck! Hopefully he knows. It is a very nice statue. I would never have a statue tattooed on my body personally.

I understand, I would not put a tattoo on my body but I know now whey he did it.

I just got in touch with Nick. He is a real nice guy and gentleman. A very smart fellow

Now the whole team is interested in our Spartan/Leo statues. This is great publicity and looks to be a very positive turn of events.

So he wanted it just like the statue? If that's the case you are right. Great publicity!

Hey Keith if you find an original photograph from 100 BC in which he could have his artist reference that would be helpful.

Aside from that, he's got to use something. Whats the difference between using a photo of a statue vs a film still or an artist's rendering?

There is a big difference IMO. If you can't see that it's not my responsibility to explain it to you. :lecture

Seems to me that it all ends up being personal preference. Some would want the likeness to match a popular reference, some would want originality.

At the end of the day, as long as the artist doing the tattoo understands what the client wants and gives them that...it is all good.

Congrats to ARH studios for getting that kind of recognition. That really can be big. And it at least has to be flattering.

pretty cool but could have used some color, I mean, is that pic the finished tat?

I hope this doesn't turn into a situation like the guy trying to sue the Hangover people about the Tyson tattoo:slap

Not feeling the tattoo but the statue is :yess:
