Re: Nintendo 3DS

...and then there won't be a makeover for this one :lol. I'll maybe wait to see if they come out with green or something. Hope to hear your impressions when you get it plas :D

Most definitely, mate. :hi5:

I've been very reluctant about shelling out for updated hardware during the current gaming generation. I did not upgrade to the DSi or XL, I never bought a PSP Go or PS3 Slim or Xbox 360 Slim until my previous xbox RRoD'ed. So in that sense I'm fairly conservative. A long time ago I remember being a whore for upgraded hardware iterations. :lol

Re: Nintendo 3DS

yeah, I'd only get a new system if it's one where it has new games that aren't available on previous systems.

Yeah $250 is a lot, but it looks like this will end up getting the largest amount of good games more quickly than other systems. It's got a lot of developer support.

Re: Nintendo 3DS

Easy pass for me. I'll definitely wait until a price drop or Xmas for this. I'll admit I'm biased because of the price, but for just a bit more I can get another PS3 or 360 for the bedroom. I hope the homebrew comes quickly for this because that's partly why I keep my DS despite not playing it much anymore.

~~Shropt you're getting one right?? What launch games are you planning on getting with it??

Yeah, I'm getting this Day 1.

If I get a launch game it would most likely be SSF4. I purposely never got the game on Xbox just so I could get it on 3DS. My other choice would probably be Zelda but I've already played through it twice so I want to know how much they added to it first.

Sounds good. Yeah, I played the crap out of that Zelda game back in the day. I'll probably get it the same day I get a 3DS.

Re: Nintendo 3DS

So is the screen the same size as the DSi or the DSi XL?

I have a DSi XL and want a 3DS but if the screen is the same size as the DSi then I'll wait. I know they'll release a larger screen XL version. It's a given. They'll milk people twice for it as they did with the DSi who want a larger screen.

Re: Nintendo 3DS

I think the screen is 10% larger than the DSi but still smaller than the DSi XL

Don't expect a larger version any time soon though, the screen technology is more expensive.

Re: Nintendo 3DS

Also it's worth noting that the 3DS top screen is larger and more of a widescreen ratio than the bottom screen.

I don't like the DSi XL for one reason: although its screens are huge, they are still the same resolution as the older, smaller DS screens, so to my eyes games look uglier and more pixelated.

that would bother me as well if the screens get larger so should the resolution, a very valid point imo :goodpost:

Re: Nintendo 3DS

I'm wondering what the quality of the photos taken with the 3DS will be like?
The DSi Camera had terrible photo quality so I'm hoping it'll be better this time around.

Re: Nintendo 3DS

I just read on Kotaku that the games will be price at $40-$50 USD. Holy crap 50 bucks I hope not, I can get a wii game for that much.

Plus most the games coming out are 3D remakes like Ocarina of Time, is it really worth $50 for the game and another $250 for the console? Holy crap pricey for handheld.

Re: Nintendo 3DS

On Gamestop's list it only looks like two of the games above are $50, and suspiciously, those two games are Tecmo titles and release a full two weeks prior to the 3DS' actual US launch. Maybe Tecmo is just capitalizing on the pre-3DS launch craze. The rest of the games are priced at $40 and I hope that's the where the price bar is set.

I had issues paying $35 for DS games...

Re: Nintendo 3DS

With the few titles I'm interested not hitting until around early Summer, I'm totally waiting until around November this year to pick one up. Plus I really want another color, red or orange.

Re: Nintendo 3DS

I don't think there'll be a new color this year. I'd rather have had orange. That purple one from E3 was pimp.
