I sure hope the system update and eShop is up and running by the midnight launch. All the game sites are still reporting to not be able to access that stuff yet. What gives? Flip the damn switch already, Nintendo!

Yeah there will be a day-1 update that practically starts the Internet capabilities of the Wii U, which must have sucked for the gaming press who got their Wii U units last week.

So I wont be able to pick my U up at midnight tonight (due to having to work early in the morning) but after work I will be going to pick it up.

I wasnt too impressed at first glance but having checked out, but after the recent reviews and videos Ive been seeing my hyped has gone up significantly. The return of a whole world map along with HD and it sounds like things get REALLY great after "World 5", so Im hyped!

I'm looking forward to it too.
I've never played it on the Wii so it's a completely new game for me.

I have the "New Super Mario Bros. Wii" but this one is looking a lot better with the full world map and HD. Really is looking like the best Mario entry yet, and thats saying something!

Long story short and general impressions I got from the reviews: system has potential, the gamepad is unique, but both have some rough edges.

Unboxed, hooked up, and currently going through the system update.

I got the Deluxe and purchased Super Mario U. Zombie U shipped yesterday from Gamefly and once reviews go up for that game, I'll decide whether or not to keep it. I'm hoping it scores well because all the previews looked great.

I'll update the eShop in a little bit once this system update is done. Looks like it will take a little bit of time.

Nice, and congrats. It's 10:30 here on the west coast and I can go and pick up mine at midnight, but I might wait until tomorrow morning. I am pretty tired tonight.

Zombi U reviews are under embargo until the tomorrow, but from the 3 leaked review scores so far, opinions may be mixed.

Official Nintendo Magazine gave it a 92%

Edge gave it a 7/10

It's the U.K. Gamespot and you can't even access the link to the video or text reviews on the site for Zombie U. I wonder how legitimate the 4.5/10 score was. Seems hard to believe it will score that low.

Well it is 5gb. I'm just surprised Nintendo has decent enough servers for it not to crap out half-way through or something.

5 gigs, good lord. That's not an update, that's a software download. It's pretty obvious, they're not taking the regular version of this thing seriously. Deluxe or bust. Lame.

You'd be lucky to have that much left since the hdd already has a bunch of stuff preinstalled on that takes up space.
Tis is such an outdated way of doing things by N. People know that memory isn't expensive any more. If they insist on two tiers, why not have one come with extra controllers and whatnot like the old days. Screwing people with worthless hard drives just to create two tiers hurts everyone and makes no sense to me. Especially today when so much of their business is downloadable. Why limit that potential market? They should be practically giving away huge hdds to encourage and stimulate the emarket.
