Is Sonic Lost World confirmed for this year? There's also going to be Wii U Party and a new Wii Fit as well, not to mention all the indie download releases that will be flooding the system sooner rather than later.

My google-fu tells me Sega just announced the release date today: October 13th, 2013.

So glad I didn't get a Wii-U now. I was hoping for a new Mario and Zelda game and it seems to be the same re-tread stuff only in HD. If the game is indistinguishable from the 3DS version, that's a problem. None of those are system sellers the way Mario 64, OoT or Mario Galaxy were. The last Donkey Kong was ok, but I'm really tired of this 2D with 3D graphics kick that Nintendo has been on for the past few years. Nintendo used to be the innovator in the industry, and now they seem so far behind, its quite sad.

I wonder if Wii-U will be the last home console Nintendo releases, and they just stick with handhelds in the future? That seems to be both where their strengths and interests are at this point.

This argument again really? The Wii-U is not going to be the last home console from Nintendo. I'm going to go ahead and disagree with you on the Zelda Wind Waker not being a console seller. I already know a few people buying one when that game comes out. Quite a few people consider it one of the best games in the series so who wouldn't want to play it in HD. You know what got me to buy a 3ds? Ocarina of Time remake, because its one of the best games of all time and they absolutely killed it on the remake/upgrade whatever you want to call it. The new mario game looks fantastic as well. Plus Bayonetta 2 is looking great and X WILL be great. Plus we will be getting Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem which guarantees to kick *** just by the name alone. Oh and Smash Bros. Nintendo is going to be fine. Granted not all of these are coming out this year, but thats alright.

To me it looks like the Wii U is going to do about like the Gamecube, maybe less. And this might be the last home console generation so there might not be another chance for them to do a new console. After this it will probably go to streaming services.

But hey the Gamecube had some great games! I honestly don't care if the majority of people don't get the Wii U. All I care is getting some good games. Every game they showed on nintendo direct I will be getting. Especially X. That game looks amazing. I never played Bayonetta 1, but 2 is looking real good. I've always been a fan of those type of games.

Me too, but not just for the demos.

My main HDTV died today. :( Need to go look for a new one.

If you don't have the money right now, you can go for their house-brand. Invidia, Infinti... something like that. I've been using that for my main TV and it's done great for 6 months or so.

Insignia? I have one of those for a spare room...pretty good sets for the money.

Gives you an excuse to get a better one

Right, but I really liked my plasma. :( Surprise expenses, even when it comes to leisure, are not fun.

I'll look into it, thanks!

Since the Gamecube, Nintendo's consoles have always been a first party system to me with a few other good exclusives. I'm still waiting for more 1st party games before I buy it. And while it's great that it's HD, Nintendo are still way behind on the graphics department.

On another note, how is the online on the Wii U? I'm hoping we'll finally get a Smash Bros game that is playable online.
