I'd actually like to try that Mario Kart game. Looked crazy.

What's the gimmick in this new one? Or in 3D Land for that matter? Seems pretty straight-forward Mario to me.

The whole pseudo 2D/3D thing. All levels have an ending with a flag and not goals. No story other than the overall story and not mini-quests.

I wouldn't call any of that a gimmick. Flags have been a Mario staple since the beginning. And I do not want story anywhere near my Mario.

Must of missed that bit cos of the choppy presentation. That was a wii u game? Looked like a 3ds game to me. LOL.

Yeah, I had a problem distinguishing between 3DS and Wii U myself in most of the reveals.

Part of me really wants someone to take Nintendo around back and put them out of their misery.

Somebody at Nintendo still knows what they're doing:

But they really do need to get their stuff together in management. This stream, with all it's lag was a total joke, the Wii U should have never shipped as slow as it was at launch, and virtually every game that didn't release with the system as been delayed for MONTHS.

Come on, Nintendo, give me the keys. I'll turn this thing around! :wink1:

It all looks great, but one of these days I expect Nintendo to really break the mold with one of their franchises instead of just iterating on previous game styles. As glad as I am to see Donkey Kong, Smash Bros, and Zelda again, they aren't as fresh as I'd like.

This goes double for Mario.

It's not unreasonable to have expected more from a mainline Mario game. I expected a leap like from Mario World to Mario 64, or Mario 64 to Mario Sunshine, or from any of those to Mario Galaxy.

But we get a slightly more varied version of the 3DS Mario Land game from a couple years ago.

Anyway, the best thing from the vid was The Wonderful 101 for me, because it actually looks new.

I agree, they really haven't evolved in all these years. But, they still make money.

Wonderful 101 does look good.

That mech game "X" looked pretty cool as well.

Oh yeah, X looked pretty swank. I've been hearing a lot of good things about that studio's previous game, Xenoblade Chronicles, but I just haven't had the 100 hours I'd need to play it, from what I heard.

I thought Retro was going to announce something. Disappointed.

Woops I meant something new. As in, completely new. I liked their work on the Wii Donkey Kong game, and will probably play the new one, but something neeeewwww plz.
