Anybody get Rayman Legends yet? Mine is still in the mail slowly making it's way to me and it's driving me mad. :panic::panic::panic:

Supposedly, it's the greatest game in the history of man. I've been loving the challenge app, but I'm really itching to try the full game. :panic::panic::panic:

I'm thinking about picking it up this weekend, but I'm already overloaded with a backlog. With Arkham Origins coming out next month I'll definitely be skipping everything else and spending a lot of time on the couch with the sweatpants on.

Really? I don't know anything about the game, but I did see it on the shelves at Walmart. I didn't even think much about it, but I'm researching it now. Thanks for the heads up.

There may have been a *bit* of hyperbole in my statement :monkey3 , but it really is getting insanely great reviews. There's a demo on the eShop, check it out.

No, it's at around 3.6 million consoles sold, originally they had planned to sell 5.5 million by March, which was then cut to 4 million, which they still haven't hit yet. And unfortunately for Nintendo, most people don't know the console exists so the few games that are pretty good are probably not going to help much.

Probably doesn't help that the new Xbox and the PS4 is coming soon

I'd like to get one of these since the price drop is coming up. Nintendo still has the best franchise characters IMO.

Is this system doing any good?

It's a really great console for a number of reasons. If you like Nintendo games, it's a must-own. If you play a lot of local multiplayer games, the Wii U offers the most games with this option and some new, interesting play styles. If you sometimes fight for control of the TV and would like to play a fully featured console game without needing the TV, then you should definitely look into it.

If your opinion of whether a console is good or not is formed in any way by sales data, then this console is not for you.

It's multiplatform, so I doubt it.

Press like this: https://www.penny-arcade.com/2013/09/04/rayman-legends1 will certainly help.

It's really only good if you like Nintendo games, and even then it's doing a pretty poor job, none of the core Nintendo games are as good as what they did previously, except for maybe Pikmin 3.

I can finally personally confirm the awesomeness of Rayman Legends. It's the real deal. Best game on the Wii U, and even though it's multiplatform, the Wii U version is gonna be the one to get since it has the touch screen.

It's the most fun I've ever had on a co-op platformer by a wide margin. I can't comment on single player yet though; my son and I played co-op for like 3.5 hours before we realized we wasted the night away. :horror

Thanks for the review! Cant wait to hear more! Does the game include the Challenges app built in or is it still worthwhile to keep that on your system separately?

The challenges from the challenges app are now in the full game and accessed from the main menu. All your data from the Challenges App transfers to the new game, but I'm not sure if that happens through the internet or from the data stored on your system, so I'm not sure if it's safe to delete the app before you run the full game for the first time. Once you get your data transferred over, it's definitely safe to delete.

Ahh! You see!
Very cool to hear that. The reviews have been extremely positive, rivaling even Pikmin 3.

At present:
Pikmin 3 has an average of 87% based on 75 reviews.
Rayman Legends at 91% based on 27 reviews.

By the time RL reaches the same number of reviews as P3, their scores could be very similar.

Good to know, thanks!

For me, Rayman blows Pikmin away. Don't get me wrong, I loved Pikmin 3, it's one of the best looking console game I've ever seen, and I'm still going back to find all the fruit, I'm just having way more fun with Rayman.

They're such different games that it's probably silly to go into a detailed comparison, so I'll leave it at that. I should probably mention that platformers are my gaming genre of choice, so my view may be skewed a bit.
