No Medicom Star Wars Heroes?????????

Medicom stuff gets really annoying where all the medi fans make a bunch of threads here. And since a lot of times things are directed directly against Sideshow.

by that logic, hot toys, master replicas, and gentle giant should probably be left at their respective boards as well.

I think the reason Medicom gets singled out is that lately all the treads (and there have been MANY) have become SS sucks look at this or SS can't make this from one side, and its to short, its to expensive. If they were more civil it wouldn't be an issue but every comment made now is a attack and then there is a hundred more posts rehashing the same BS.

I swear this is worse then when I first came around and every thread was invaded by the Krugans and became a Krugan thread.

Thats definitely true, im tired of the back and forth too. but it goes both ways MF, sometimes medi fans will start it but just the same SS fans will call out something as well.

The way I see it, people post threads on new Medi products and Medi is usually the one to be attacked at that time. when people back it up then the mud slinging begins. Yes this is a sideshow forum, but the company that has this dedicated forum is the one bringing in the Medi figures. So imo discussion about them is not out of line.

Also, look at who usually starts the attacks against Medi....surprise it's the kurgans.

I am avoiding Evil Faces comment completely and ultimately this thread by not retaliating to anythign and adding fuel to the flames. I just put in a couple of civil thoughts on some peoples comments.

Im so tired, my body is on strike. I had three things to do when I was here. 1. the small amout of work I had to do
2.Surf
3. goto Pipeline Pro.

Well the wind has caused some serious problems with 2 and 3. I have been here quite a few time so I have done all the tourist kinda things and I am kinda enjoying it, I am sitting on the patio over looking the ocean.

I really don't understand the "company bashing" myself. Even though I am obviously a Sideshow fan, I have several Medicom and Hot Toys figures and love them just as much! I buy what I like, no matter who puts it out!

And I agree, since Sideshow is importing and distributing other companies products, then there should be discussion about those products. This may primarily be a Sideshow board, but it has never been limited to discussion of just Sideshow products.

As for multiple threads, I will point out that Freaks can sometimes post multiple threads on Sideshow products as well. We get excited about the products we like and want to post about them; in our excitement, we may not take the time to look and see if a thread exists already.

Guys, let's get back on topic. I could care less about who posts what on whichever board.

The topic is why has Medicom, who has had the SW license for several years now, only put out a handful of figures and only one hero character and only one that was unmasked, gets a free pass. While SS who has had the license a 16 or so months, has put out several important characters in a nice, affordable and well represented figures, gets bashed to hell because they want to wait and finish characters that are in development?

I'd really like to hear it from the 4 medicomers, the 4 that are extremely high strung, the only 4 that ever post about them, defend them if someone even whispers a hint of a negative remark about the and do nothing but trash SS on their cute little board.

And Wolverine had a great likeness too. Point being that Luke hit in 02, and Medicom's really stepped up their human likeness since then, I mean Luke and Superman are really the only arguable human likeness characters, but it also shows that from Luke to Supes to Wolvie they progress.

I do long for some Medi heros though, maybe after Fett they'll hit us!

Medicom Hasn't done any SW heroes because SW is not one of Medicom's Main Lines. You can tell from the releases so far. Vader, Troopers, Fett and Yoda are the MOST popular SW characters and sell the most product for the franchise and Medicom has done all of them. I think Luke was a bit of a necessity for Medicom as they probably wanted Luke to go with Vader. As SW is not one of Medicom's main lines they don't feel the need to be complete about it. This is the same for many of the Medicom's releases they usually only do the Most popular characters (The ones that sell) and maybe a few necessity ones and move on. Obviously SW has been doing pretty well for them as it has got International recognition for them which is why we see them continuing to do new characters but I believe that Medicom mostly focuses on what will sell in Japan, which are the same ones that sell everywhere. Characters Like Han, Leia and Chewie altho very popular dont sell nearly as much product as Vader, Troopers, Fett and Yoda.


Medicom does Human likenesses all the time, if you care to actually research and see the other figures they actually come out with you can see that there are lots of Human characters that are done. and altho they are sometimes "idealized" they are very good. It is just a matter of approach.

As for SS bashing, I dont see myself as bashing but just judging the product for what it is. I have collected 1/6 figures from many companies and I think that my comparison is quite fair. Many ppl who collect SS stuff seem to have only ever seen or owned SS stuff and the idea of other companies doing 1/6 is very new to them. I dont think these ppl can really be a fair judge. Experience does play a factor even in Toy collecting. Sideshow does great stuff their statues are awesome, the Best US Superhero statues on the market today but they really do need to work on their 1/6 offerings which I feel are severely lacking.

I dont suck off any company. I buy tons of stuff from many companies. I spend well over 2K on toys every month. No Company has 100% perfect releases and all companies have their good and bad. I just find it wrong when ppl bash a company they really know nothing about and base everything off one or 2 releases without looking at the big picture. There also seems to be a lack of respect for anything asian on this board, not to mention a lack of respect in general which is quite sad. Sometimes I think ppl need to step out of the circle, There's a bigger world out there. You dont really have true knowledge til you can see the big picture.
