International Box Office helped Bond big time. U.S. brought in about $25 mil while Halloween got $50 mil. Poor Damon and Affleck got $4.5 mil with a budget of $100 mil lolololol

So despite seeing everywhere that the movie failed in the box office all I see is the international numbers helping it big time, hell Shang Chi is sitting right at 410mil and No time to die over 452mil, not bad at all!

I think it needs to make 1B just to break even lol

Due to the delay interest payments.

Haven’t seen this yet, but in anticipation I watched all the Craig movies. I can’t believe it took me this long to do that - I think I mentioned I had only seen CR when it was first released.

Guy makes one hell of a cool Bond. Weakest IMO was QoS, mainly because of the weakest bad guy, but even then, I still enjoyed the movie, because CR-Skyfall, Craig was at his physical peak and Olga Kurylenko is an absolute babe. We’re gonna try and catch this last one before it leaves theaters.

If I had to pick a favorite, it would be a toss-up between CR and Skyfall.

Pretty much everyone's number 1 and 2.... with CR usually well in the lead.

Curious to see what you think of this last Craig Bond.

BTW, DO NOT read the below spoiler if you haven't seen the movie...

Silly title considering he does in fact have plenty of time to do just that

I’ll definitely report back afterwards.

I also started watching Dr. No. While it is SO boring compared to the Craig movies, I’m enjoying it a lot and damn is Connery a cool dude in it.

Dr No was always boring mostly. But its the one that started it all.

Its hard to have a 50 year old movie live up to today's expectations. You have to watch with a mind for what people were exposed to at the time to sort of appreciate them. Goldfinger still holds up pretty well because it moves so swiftly along and has a good balance between tension and amusement. I thought it was boring when I was a young kid but it quickly became my favorite when I was about 15.

Soon you replace GF with DAD lol

Posted this the other day in the Rate the Movie thread; might post it here as well. My thoughts on the film:

I think the film started out pretty good. It felt like a classic Bond film with cool cars, gadgets, location and action. And it introduced us to Ana de Armas' Paloma character, which was a breath of fresh air. Already I'm inclined to call her my favorite Bond girl. She looks gorgeous, was funny and kicked ass.

Bond's replacement Nomi wasn't as horrible a character as I feared, but she wasn't likeable either. Too arrogant and full of herself, but still, not as bad as I thought it would be. The competition between her and Bond's missions wasn't bad, but it doesn't really amount to anything seeing as it ends up as expected, but in a boring manner.

Like I said, it was a fun, and pretty good film and then the last hour or so happens...

Storylines have to slowly move toward an end and I guess this is the best they could come up with. We also get introduced to one of the most boring and lame villains in Bond history. The part of his plan during the first half of the film I can totally understand. Basically a simple, but effective, revenge plot. But what are his motivations after that? Don't know.

Why does he want to infect a lot of people? Does he want to thin out the population because Earth is too full? Profit? He has a boring drawn out dialogue with Bond and nothing gets cleared up.

Why does he want Madeleine all of a sudden? Because he saved her as a child? Does he love her and want her for his wife? It is implied, but never really explained.

Talking about Madeleine; she and Bond have no chemistry whatsoever. This makes their whole romance and her being "the one" for him totally unbelievable and forced. I think Craig's Bond had more chemistry with every other female character he ever met in the whole series. Also he has a daughter now...

The ending of the film with the nanovirus and the fact that he wasn't going to be able to touch Madeleine and Mathilde ever again is just dark and bleak. But no worries, because Bond dies anyway. You read it right... he dies. No Time to Die, my a$$.

Because of this, you leave the film with mixed or even sad feelings. Which is not the way to come out of a James Bond film.

If they could've maintained the flow of the first half of the film, it would be reaching Casino Royale levels. Unfortunately, they went for the bleak and dramatic way, which doesn't fit a James Bond film.

Absolutely and I appreciate it for what it is. If anything, it seems more realistic to the slow pace of what it would be like in real life LOL. I’m looking forward to watching the others.

Just finished this. It was ok, I’d say on par with Spectre, though I’d need to see both again. I stand by my original report of CR and Skyfall being the best.

Bit draggy, the end may have been more impactful had it not been ruined for me. Enjoyed the gadgets like the magnetic elevator jump. The wokewashing was very much overhyped, wasn’t anything eye-rolling. Ana de Armas was a hottie, as expected. Black chick 007 was cool, had a real donkey booty too heh.

Finally got to see it last night.
I liked it a lot, as enjoyable as any of Craig's Bond movies. While the ending is pretty bleak, I think it was a fitting finale.
As for Malek's villain, yeah, he was a bit of a head-scratcher... I don't quite understand his motives and his plan to infect the entire world, or his new-found obsession (even though he "explains" it, it doesn't make much sense) with Madelein and her daughter.
But the action, the set pieces and the characters were all great.
