What about the ones who have never read the comics, like me? :dunno

TDKR SUX!! :nana:

In all seriousness, if you're not a hardcore Batman fan who has never watched Keaton's Batman or even better, Batman the Animated Series, then I think you would enjoy TDKR.

I consider myself a hardcore Batman fan, and I enjoy TDKR just fine.:dunno Then again, I don't believe that Batman should be confined to one interpretation, and I enjoy Adam West's Batman just as much as Michael Keaton's, or Christian Bale's.

Exactly- it got bad reviews upon release- now it is a top classic , can I say 2001 A Space Odyssey??

There are so many films that get kicked around upon first release and then become classics. I think John Carpenter's The Thing is one of the best examples. Critics hated it and audiences ignored it. Now it's an all time classic and consistently put in top Horror/sci fi list everywhere.

TDK is only truly great because of Joker. Can anyone see it being as good as it was with a different villain? I love TDK, but the final act with Two Face sucked. And you're right about TDKR.

I love how the cops who were underground for so long come out clean shaving... dafaq?

The saying goes "A film is only as good as it's villain" In the case of TDK I would say that is true. Joker helped take that film to a whole new level. But you can say that about a lot of films.

It's not fair us that argument against a film. What would Rocky be without Apollo, Luke without Vader, Laurie without Michael, Goodfellas without Pesci etc..etc..etc..

Besides 89 Batman had Joker and that is not near the film as TDK.. Even with modern effects it would not be. Hell 89 Batman is not as good as TDKR.

There I said it :)

89 batman wipes the floor with tdkr.
:goodpost::exactly::clap

Heath Ledger's Joker, and to a lesser extent, Tom Hardy's Bane, were practically the ONLY things in TDK trilogy with NEARLY as much style or soul as Burton's Batman films.

There, I said it. :nana:

I never said it was a fact, obviously there are exceptions. I personally like to see Batman portrayed a certain way and Nolan's take in general was not it.

Batman, the character and his villains, suck. Nolan actually made him compelling and relevant while still being respectful to the source material. That's a huge task.

Everyone is going to jump on the next Batman's **** because it's new and "not Nolan". But it time you'll all turn on that one too. Some of the haters now will even use the Nolan series as an example of "Batman done right" (which it is) when criticizing it. It's a cycle.

Love it or Hate it, RISES is what it is. The haters need to move on... like Bruce Wayne.

Have U ... Actually Ever Read Anything Batman in the Last 70 Yrs ? ... How was TDKR Even Close or Respectful to Source Material outside of Using the Actual Names of the Characters in the Batman Lore ? It was more like an Elseworlds Farce , but was slapped together like a Scramble for a Teenage Abortion Drive By, Because for some Damn Reason, Somebody at Hollywood Decided these things MUST Come in 3's Now.

See ... thats the Problem Brother..., All the Actual Comicbook Readers..., that U refur to as "Haters" ... Know, Bruce Wayne ... Wouldn't Move on. That alone is Pretty Damn Easy to Hate.

Just because you, or anyone else, don't like it, that doesn't make it any less valid. To say that it "sucks" is to say exactly what you said you weren't saying. Batman is bigger than the way you or I, or anyone else sees him, and there are various interpretations that are just as enjoyable as others with an open mind. It seems like the majority of complaints I see about TDKR are exactly like yours; that they don't like it because it's not "their" Batman.

Can you go to comic con with a bullhorn and say that?

San Diego Comic Con? Please... no one goes there for the comics. They go there for the movies and actors. They should rename it San Diego Movie Con.
