I quite liked the premise. Its set way way in to the future even further than Soul Reaver. Theres a race of Blue Skinned Vampires called the Saladin, they have a hunger for Souls and can also shift to spectral/material realms at free will. The Saladin attack a village and one of the Saladin vampires called Gein is devouring a soul of a human named Asher, but something goes wrong. And Ashers soul now inhabits the body of Gein. He is actually in control of the body like its his own. He tries to save his village but its already all been torched. He tries to commit suicide but he cant in his new body. So he goes on a quest for revenge. It sounds very Blood Omen 2 & Soul Reaver in premise to me. It was also going to have little tie in's with the past. It was in development for 3 years and was to be a ps4 launch title

But they completely removed the single player game and kept the online mode which now looks like its what "Nosgoth" was built upon.

Ah well, im sure we will have another game in the next 14 years.

Man if they took it to kickstarter or some such I'd back to **** out of it!

Square Enix has unveiled Nosgoth, the free-to-play competitive multiplayer game set in the Legacy of Kain universe.

The trailer, below, shows off the third-person, team-based human versus vampire gameplay. Nosgoth is developed by Psyonix, and will be released on PC via Steam.

Humans use ranged weaponry and specialised equipment. Vampires use close combat melee attacks and supernatural abilities.

Each side has multiple classes and many items to unlock, including weapons, perks and abilities.

"At Psyonix, we're passionate about team-based multiplayer games," reads a statement on the Nosgoth blog. "When Square Enix approached us to help create Nosgoth, we were excited to use our experience working on titles like Bulletstorm, Gears of War, Mass Effect 3, and Unreal Tournament 2004 to deliver something unique in the multiplayer genre.

"We made the decision to go to free-to-play to break down barriers and let as many players into the game as possible. One of the key goals has been to create a fair experience that doesn't penalise players who don't spend money in the game, as such Nosgoth doesn't include items, weapons or abilities that are inherently better (aka supremacy goods)."

This takes place after the events that Set off Soul Reaver? How? The War between Human and vampire had long since ended. Infact to the point the vampires had won for that long they had evolved in to monsters.

This is complete ****. Complete rubbish.

If theres anything to take from this? We see our first ever Razielim offspring or however you would want to say it. We also see a young version of one of Turrels offspring. But again, the stages they are in are clearly centuries before anything in Soul Reaver. So the whole timeline thing is wrong, he must of meant the events of Blood Omen. But even then, its not. Its way after Blood Omen 2 since the characters in here are offspring of Raziel and Turrel who wernt sired for at minimum 300 years since Blood Omen.

PC only too? Doesnt matter i wouldnt go anywhere near this. I pray to god they dont stick the LOK logo anywhere near the title.

The fact that you're trying to justify continuity for this piece of **** is cute.

If Kain had of saw this in Nosgoths future i think he would of sacrificed himself at the end of blood omen. Infact he would of told Mortanious to forget it when he was offered re-birth as a vampire.

the lok series were some of my favorites as a child. this new game doesnt really appear to have any of the qualities the others had. maybe the faces of the vampires are similar but thats it. if this wasnt offered up as lok id be more interested, but knowing this is what weve waited for all these years for im very disheartened. i hope se doesnt screw up an actual lok game. this is just a dumb spinoff that will fail. if it doesnt its because the gameplay was good. i kind of hope theres a colonial marines style uproar over this game though, thatd be fun, i guess.
