Strange thing I found when I was going through the box to display the different portrait. It looks like I received two saber hilts. One of them has a small piece of the metal peg broken off. There was also a notice in the box saying something about the box may look opened because it was inspected and blah blah blah. I'm thinking I might have received a returned statue. Not that I mind much. The statue looks fine to me. I'm just wondering if it's SSC common practice to be shipping out returned statues to customers who are paying for new items.

Yes. I returned a Statue and someone here got the same one, still broken. Crazy.

I was in my local shop a few weeks back, they had the original first release as a "display only--not for sale" and they had 2 old ben portraits.

I placed an order, which should be fulfilled shortly. Suffice to say, I will be going over this figure with a fine toothed comb.

Re-sending a damaged figure/ returned figure without disclosing is bad business if true.

are there two hand variations or is one of mine missing?
one with a 'active' lightsaber and the other one with a open hand?

Yes, sounds like you are missing the hilt less hand. Should be one permanently attached left hand, and two right hands.

but there are photos from collectors, with a left hand holding a lightsaber that is inactive.
