Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Exactly MaulFan :clap …this is what I’m going to do with it, if I buy it. :D

nice to finally see a fellow norwegian on this forum:D

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Yeah, I agree that I'd love to see one last Rambo from this movie with his new home-made machete knife, bow and arrows, and new outfit. Bring it on Hot Toys! If you can make a Rambo III bust, you can surely make one Rambo figure from the new movie for us!

Has anyone seen "Feng's" awesome custom Rambo? Wow, Hot Toys needs to take some tips from him on how to make the new one! :D

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Feng did a nice job, but I don't think Hot Toys needs any help with their Rambos and I actually found Feng's to be a bit exaggerrated in the body proportions and such. Killer face, but HT has Stallone nailed, and the body was a bit much.

I agree with this completely.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

I am of Norwegian decent. Both my Grandparents on my mother's side were from Norway. My Grandfather from Dramen, Grandmother from Christensen.

If Hot Toys were to make more Rocky's and Rambo's wouldn't we have heard something by now? Like we did with the last First Blood figure? A preview? Is there a toy show coming up?

Toy Fair is coming so a new Rambo could be unveiled there. Toy Fair is in early/mid February so given the film's release date, the best time to unveil a figure would have been a few months ago in advance, or at this point, wait for the big convention to start the year. I still wonder where the rights are and everything on Rambo films and if HT even can make items from RAMBO, or maybe for spoiler purposes they couldn't show it yet or something.

As for Rocky, I hate to say it, but I think that line may be done as far as figures go. Maybe we'll see some 1/4 pieces, but it's been a long time since Apollo and Drago were shown off, it may be a safe bet to call that line dead. Especially when some places are now selling Creed and Drago at almost half price.

Oh cool so the shows in February? Thats what I was wondering. Good points on the Rocky line but God knows I hope you're wrong dude! I really want more Rocky figs from the earlier films, and casual Rocky version too.

I have a feeling likeness rights to Stallone must be through the roof. Thats probably why we got a casual Clubber instead of Rocco.

Yep,the Rocky line is over,i did wish Hot Toys could release a few more of Rocky 1 Bruised up after fight with Apollo,Rocky IV Training in Russia with beard,Rocky in yellow fighting gear.I mean, why would Hot Toys choose a Street Clubber Lang over either of those 3 figures mentioned above?Weird choice in my opinion.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

I doubt Stallone rights have any bearing, otherwise the Rambo line wouldn't have skewed off to only Rambo himself, they'd be putting out Co Boas and Teasles and R2 and R3 Trautmans.

I have other Rocky figures I'd like to see, but I just have a feeling Rocky himself was probably the best seller of the line, and I'm sure Clubber 1's sales were boosted more by people in awe of what could be done more than character favor. I think at this point, Rocky and Creed from Rocky 1 and 2 and maybe a Rocky Balboa version are the only ones that might sell well for them. Rocky as a property just doesn't offer the quality of collectible figure like Rambo. Rambo you have a wide range of costumes and weapons and is something that really thrives in the options this product line offers. Rocky is more like poseable statues and I'm sure has less people interested in owning them.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Not a bad price at all, but if it's all plastic with only one articulated point, it really shouldn't cost much more than that.

Yeah, I'd have loved to have seen more variations of Rocky. I guess the Japanese like Mr. T more than Stallone since they made two different Clubber Langs? I'm sad to hear that the Rocky line is "over". Does anyone know for sure that it is and Hot Toys is not making any more figures in the line?

I really wanted to see more of the supporting cast of Rocky. His trainer Micky, his wife Adrian, his brother-in-law Paulie. :D

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Well, the last Rocky figures previewed at SSC in May, so I'd say the line is probably finished at this point, it's been like 8 months with nothing.

Re: Official Hot Toys Rambo Line Thread

Thanks for the link Roy,i dont think we need to pre-order too early for this Bust,it wont be a big hit so they definitely wont be sold out so fast...

Well not that it helps but I did e-mail Hot Toys about a couple months ago and asked them about the possibility of possible future Rocky figures. Their response was that they were not authorized to discuss future plans on Hot Toys and that I should keep checking back with thier website.

Now, if the line was done and I was an executive at Hot Toys I wouldn't see ANY harm in saying, "yes sir the line is now finished" Why state that they can't discuss future plans??? Maybe there are plans to make more?

Yeah I think you're right, it looks cool but may appear more "Dinky" in person. I'm also sure it won't be a tough piece to aquire.
