Thanks Wor-Gar, that's high praise coming from you. You know, the biggest fans are also the biggest critics and if you are happy with the sculpt I trust this one will be a keeper and a pleasant surprise for most of us.

Now S-T-R-E-T-C-H that jacket bro, make it happen! :D Btw, Han with jacket removed is a great Jabba throne piece as well for sure...

Love that you love the belt and blaster, that was so critical to get right and not an easy task IMO and it does look superb, Bravo SSC. :chew

That's what I was thinking of doing. Popping the jacket off and since I got Leia coming and Luke from that scene it all works out. A nice day on the Skiff.

Yup. great review W-G. I wonder if maybe you (a general you, not specific to anyone) can unstitch the pockets and restitch them lower? Is there room to do something like that on the jacket?

Does anybody think the water treatment would help the jacket out? It seems like it would. I have yet to try it on my Sideshow figures myself.

The material is fairly thin, and I would worry that once you remove the pockets, there will be small holes where they once were -- holes that might show up with a white shirt underneath. I have experienced this re-stitching Hasbro figure clothing in the past.

Honestly, the pockets are OK. Once you pose the figure, you really see so little of the front of the jacket if you have it open a bit. The real issue is simply the length. As I work here, it does look like the wet-and-stretch method I'm trying is working. It has lengthened the jacket ever-so slightly, but hopefully it will help. Also, a crouched pose will help bring the jacket bottom closer to the belt line.

I'll try it and take pix when he dries.

BTW -- I don't know how I overlooked this, but the MYNOCK ROCKS! Along with the blaster and holster, its the best piece!

:D

Nice photos WG... the sculpt looks really great, I think we all (mostly) can breath a sigh of relief about this figure.

Well I am certainly glad that you all seemed to be pleased with the Han figure. I have to say from what I am seeing I have no regrets about canceling mine. Enjoy him you happy wait lister who ever you are.

Wor Gar you got me thinking of stuff to make sure I look for when I do my review.

You might also mention to be very, very careful when putting on the holster. Its really tight on mine and required a slow, soft "stretch" to loosen the material a bit so I could hook the belt.

Did you happen to take "before" pics for comparison?

Well, I took one -- a little dark and not the best but its all I got (took when when I took the close ups for this thread). I'll post that picture when I have a comparison shot.

BTW, the pants ride a little high and will need the same treatment LUKE did -- cotton balls or a little piece of crushed paper towel placed at the thighs to fill him out a bit. He suffers from the same "joint pinch" as Luke in the hips.

I'm nearly done rebuilding my Han -- I may even post some pictures tonight of the finished product. Remember, the jacket is "fixed" but still not where it should be. The material just doesn't allow for enough stretch. But its better.

:D

TOE, have you ever been tempted to open one? I use to be a mint in mint box person myself, but I eventually found that I get much more enjoyment from opening and displaying them.

I do still like my boxes to be as mint as possible. :D

:lol I will eventually, maybe. Even Shai has tempted me to open both of my mint sealed Patient Zero figures :lol

OK, so here's my redressed, tweaked, stuffed, stretched Han Solo.

Yeah, that's the Mynock hanging there....

The jacket was soaked and stretched out. The hips were padded with cotton. That great holster is very tight on the hips -- I had to slowly, softly stretch the vinyl belt to make it fit even the regular waist. Be very careful with this belt when you get yours. After a lot of futzing, I think i got it to look like its hanging loose, even though its not. I also heated the boots as one of mine was bent. I did not water treat the entire outfit. The pants and shirt set fine with a little tweaking and piching.

Here's how he came straight out of the box...

As you can see, his "waiters coat" is pretty high-waisted. Even with a good hour of stretching the material again and again my jacket is still short -- but the crouched pose helps alot.

Sorry for the dark pictures, but the flash just washes out everything. I'll take better ones in the morning.

Wow! Nice job Wor-Gar. He looks great. Overall, how do think he compares to the other SW figures?

Great work Wor-Gar! :D Thanks so much for your hard work, tutorial and pics, boy he sure looks great with your rebuild and tweaking! :D And I, for one, can now see the sculpt is solid, not perfect but that IS indeed Han which is so reassuring, Han being my fave SW OT hero as well.

Thanks!

That's a hard question: Han Solo is my favorite SW hero, so I'm biased. On the one hand, I appreciate him the most of all the figures so far... on the other, because he's so important to me, I'm probably harder on him than the others.

I can say this: Han required the most tweaking I have yet had to do with a figure...and still I'm not satisfied with the jacket. I also wish the holster hung loose like a gunfighter instead of being very tight around his waist. These two things bug me no end. But... for the most part, he's awesome. He's Han Solo! I'm just happy to have one that finally looks like Han Solo.

The hard call: if I'm real critical, and since no other figure so far has had any issue with its costume fitting correctly, I'd say Han is in last place as far as total satisfaction.

See Pjam, the power of positive thinking has won out once again!
