DarkArtist, did you just cover up the hair and eyebrows with lighter paint, or did you paint them white or strip them all together and start from scratch? I know you offered to repaint peoples (and I might ask when I actually get mine) but was thinking about doing it myself, and was wondering the difficulty level is if its just hair I will be messing with. Thanks for any advise!

No problem PBK.... I drybrushed a skin tone color over the brows (and forehead once I saw how much of a difference it made...:lol ) Then I did a few layers of light brown for the brows.

Though in hindsight now.... I would probably use nail polish remover and take them off instead....:D

I tried my hand at lightening Han's hair. I tried not to get it too light but it is still a little dark.

And another, a little closer of the head. This was scary let me tell you, but now that I have done it I am ready for Obi-Wan.

The figure looks perfect. That's what I did as well, not too light, but just some highlights. Ford's hair was a lot darker back then in the 80's anyway.

I second that JB! This is great work! A minor change but.... as you can see... it helps a ton with this figure. Can't wait to see what you do with Obi-Wan!

fastest ever SSc custom, youll need one hairdyer, one Hasbro Han Solo (hoth gear) or Han Solo on taun taun, one SSc Bespin Han solo.
Heat neck of SSc figure, pop off head, heat hasbro figures head, pop off, place SSc Solo bonce on hasbro body et voila' :lol

Well, due to some unfortunate delays, misunderstandings and events outside everybody's hands, the Bespin Han Solo I had cancelled arrived last night at my doorstep.
No biggie, I thought to myself, I didn't want the figure, the charge on my CC sucks, but what the hell, I can sell it off.

So I decided to take it out and have the firsthand experience.

First thought?
Yes, it does look better in hand than on any pic out there. in person Hans face does not look that pudgy.
Second thought?
If I had seen it in person beforehand, I still would have cancelled the order.
Yes, it is a nice figure, and it's a great change from all the sissy robed Jedis, but it just suffers from design flaws.
Why is the jacket so short? And not only the general length, but also the sleeves, there's barely any fabric to adjust fro movement.
Why is the material so thin it's actually translucent?
The boots have a poor sculpt, but I think that has to do with the choice of material. Why are the boots so hard? People at SST, please consider a softer material for the boots. Just look at DML's boots: soft enough to allow flexibility and posing, yet sufficiently strong to keep the figure balanced. Also, making them softer allows you to make them fit tighter around the figures ankles and calves (sp?).
Another thing that struck me: why the high-riding pants? They make the figure's torso look shorter, and when you look at picture's of Solo in ESB, his pants were kinda low-riders, the exact opposite. Just look at the picture in the back.
In general, Solo's outfit just makes the flaws in SST's body more apparent.
There's just a bunch of little things that are off which are mildly irritating.

So, overall, yeah, a nice figure, not sure if it's one I'll keep though.

Sorry that happend, abake. I do wonder why the jacket wasn't a teeny bit longer. It makes him look like he has super long legs.

Well, it's not that big a deal...
But you're right, the cut of the pants and jacket is a bit odd and makes the figure look weird. SST needs new tailors!:D

My Han Solo should arrive today from firesidecollectibles. How about yours Pixletwin??? I know you pre-ordered from the same place.

Abake, yes, I haven't been happy with the tailoring on Skinner's outfit either. Because ESB Han is one of my favorites, I might be forced to tailor a new one.

I actually oredered mine from Dark Shadow Collectibles. He would've shipped this week but since that would've destroyed the delicate balance that are my finances, I asked Adam to postpone shipping Han and Mace until after the 21st.

I too wait for DSC to send mine out, I'm going crazy waiting. It's the only thing I have coming until Maul!

I just got my Han today. Too bad the first thing I noticed out of the box was that he has a tear in his sleeve stitching.:monkey2 Any of you experience this? Oh, and those pockets are atrocious. I am definitely making a new jacket.

I've finally decided to keep good ole Han, and have started futzing with him...
One little thing I did that seemed to work very nicely was that I just pulled his pants down. Wait. That sounds wrong.
Just tug a little bit at the pants, so that they don't ride so high. Sure, it'll make the jacket look even shorter, but the overall appearance is much better.
Sorry, no pics, but I'll try to post some over the weekend.

One thing I've found with these Sideshow figures is that neck length varies wildly. And this no doubt contributes to a figure's height. But I don't understand why they gave Han such a short neck, expecially when he is supposed to be signifcantly taller than Luke.
