Sorry heh all i did was go to the link that cohete tried to post and saved the picture because they don't allow hot linking, and then just reuploaded it to my own space so it could be posted. I don't have any other pics.

But JLC posted prototype pics of him in the high res 12" picture thread, heres the link to the head shot (way to big to display here):

Here are some pics of my Solo 2.0. Han needed some customizing right out of the box. His jacket was too snug and too purplish-blue so I cannibalized the jacket from the Hasbro Bespin Han which, ironically was an improvement. I dyed it it rit dye to give it a more bluish tint. Next I colored his hair a lighter shade of dark brown and dry brushed some highlights and applied a wash on his face to bring out the highlights a little better so he would look a little more like Harrison. I also painted the broom-handle of his mauser. I just wish that the $55 this figure cost me would have looked more like the prototype than what we got. I don't consider myself a customizer but it prompted me to start which is how I came across this site and was astonished to see all of the fabulous customs by many talented customizers like Dark Artist and Customikey. Next, Obi-Wan.

Finally brought mine back "indoors" and re-dressed him Bespin style.
I'm not as bold as some of the artists here, but I'm satisfied...

It's a bit dark, but I like the mood he conveys...

Yeah, you need some lighting. Under those conditions, and holding that belt the way he is, he looks like a male stripper or something.

Just got mine! No problems either. I read some folks were lucky enough to have him be fineout of the box, I'm one of em'. The jacket was perfect length, nothing broke, no glue needed, and the belt was nice and loose, it hangs nicely, and wasn't too tight. The only thing about the likeness that's weird to me is he looks a little drunk, but that's fine. Ford probably was! I might lighten the hair, but Ilike it so much I'm gonna enjoy it as is for a while.

Anyone have any high resolution photos of ESB Han? I want to recreate his jacket, but I'm having hard time finding detailed pics. Thanks!

My recommendation to anyone wanting to darken the jacket is to stain it with a midnight blue acrylic. You can find a staining agent at most hobby stores like Michaels for a couple bucks and mix it with the acrylic which mixes it into a water-based staining dye that can be brushed directly onto the fabric.

OK I'm gonna do Hans hair and eyebrows, this is my FIRST time trying this! I read a bunch of advise and wanna go on with it, one more question: How many layers of paint do you usually have to drybrush on to get it good, and do you guys use multiple color shades of brown or just 1? Hopefully this weekend I'll get the chance, thanks!

I actually thought the jacket was too dark and a bit insubstantial. Light passes through the material too easily. I took a gray pastel and a brush and dusted the hell out of it to get it lighter and to fill in the "holes" in the weave of the fabric a bit. I good spray with acrylic sealer also helped stiffen the jacket a little bit.

It's not that the jacket is too dark, the problem is that it is the wrong color. It's more of a purplish-blue. I found that a midnight blue seems to look closer to the shade used in the film.

Ok.... I know it's late... but an accident with a customer's Han paintjob forced me to have to give up the head on my Han... so I repainted the "accident" head and now have some new work to show off....

Here he is guys....

OUTSTANDING JOSH!!! What color did you mix for the eyes?

Thanks Dave!! I mixed up 3 shades of brown and a light green.... I did several smaller circles from dark to light on the iris and finished it up with a splash of green in the middle. I think it turned out rather nice....

You were right about those brows Paul!! I kept looking at it and knowing that something was off.... finally... I lightened the brows and made them a little skinnier... and bam... Way better likeness!

That's some strong work there DarkArtist. I think you really added a lot of character into this sculpt with your re-paint. Gone is the goofy look of the production paint and here is the smarmy scoundrel we all know and love. Aces dude, just plain aces. :rock :rock :rock :rock :rock

Did you re-paint Obi Wan yet?

Yep, it worked out great, those subtle changes make a huge difference!

He now looks much more human, much more like a mini HF! :D

Thanks guys.... Nice to see my incessant "tweaking" pay off for once!

And Rage... I have not yet had the pleasure of my very own Obi... but I did repaint a head for the awesome and patient Pjam... as posted in the Obi thread..

Can't wait to have my own though... So I can pose up a storm and pit him against my Anakin! The figure arrives this Monday.... needless to say I am excited. :banana

Mace is also on the way... so I will be repainting him too....

Josh, did you paint in the scar on his chin or did it bleed through from shading and highlighting?

Nope, just drybrushing and washes naturally brought out the scar... I was originally gonna do a lighter shade of pink for the scar but once I saw the effect... I left it as is....

Might go back and paint the hands now though... they don't match his face anymore...:lol
