I was one of those who thought the ESB Han got a bad rep when it was released. It looked better in person, and that's the reason I bought it. But now that we have Trev's ANH to compare it against, it's definitely the lesser of the two, and all of its imperfections are brought to the forefront.

Sculpt wise I think some imperfections stand out now, but from the neck down I still think it's just as solid. The only odd feeling I get looking at it now is that before, I was excited about it because it was my high end Han Solo and it looked real nice, but now that my favorite Solo's come out, I'm a little less excited about it, I'll probably feel different about ROTJ if it pushes things a bit. A nicely done trenchcoat and a portrait that really captures his persona from the last film could elevate it past my favoritism for the ANH look to give me some excitement about it.

I hate to say it but i REALLY don't like my bespin solo now. It doesn't even look like Harrison anymore. Like not even a little bit. But thankfully he came with the mask.

You know, the Bespin Han repaints look more ROTJ to me than ESB, they look great, but either the sculpt or something feels more ROTJ.

With all the hoopla surrounding ANH Han, I took some new shots of my ESB Han. Trev's ANH sculpt just blows this one out of the water. If I had the funds right now, I'd be grabbing an ANH version right now.

ANH may have ended up with caterpillar eyebrows, but these look like freakin' centipedes!!

I'll take your Han if you don't want it ;) it looks great in those pics!

Nice pics bro! And before the comments about the "shiny-ness" start rolling in... I just want to say that it looks much more natural in person than in the pics. :D

Glad to see him on a body, I really think it is my best Bespin Han repaint to date. :rock

You did a nice job Josh. I was surprised at the nice finish the Ghost Anakin head you painted had, for some reason a lot of photos of your repaints add a shine that's not there, interesting.

Hey, why is it so shiny? (Just kidding.)

It's funny how photographing some figures is so difficult. Sometimes it's very easy for me to take a photo that shows more or less how a figure looks in real life, and sometimes I can't do it to save my life. (Of course in some cases, figures look better in photos than in real life as well.)

Y'know, I've never really considered repaints cos I haven't seen many that improve on the factory paint job,

really? wow, you should go to the customs section of this forum. You'll see a ton of figures there that have been repainted which take the figures from factory made toys, to mini versions of real looking people. The difference a repaint can make is incredible.

Seriously you should check out some of the work of people like Les Walker, Josh (DarkArtist) and Customikey. These guys do incredible work :bow

Please, don't be so modest Darren! You are one of the most talented blokes on this board, worthy of inclusion in that list!
Don't worry, I'll toot your horn for you!
Check out this guys stuff!!!!

:D

Thanks Darren, yes, I HAVE seen their work, and they DO rock! I guess my point is that I'm usually satisfied with the factory paint job, so why risk messing with it? Plus repaints don't always have the same professional finish as the factory paint jobs.

Bespin Han and Yavin Luke are probably the only ones I'd consider getting redone.

Just made my Bespin Han look 100% better:

Gave Han the Trenchcoat from the Endor Trooper and in my opinion that little item of clothing elevated the figure to a new dimension. The Trooper looks fine without it, buy the way.
