Does anyone have extra stock Han boots that they replaced? If you think those suck, try looking at Hasbro boots. LOL.

So anyway, let me know what you'd want for Hans boots.

This has been done (at least the Hoth outfit part) but I got a Hasbro Han on Tauntaun on ebay for $15 and he just came today. Love that Tauntaun. The Hasbro Han isn't terrible, but the likeness isn't as good as the Sideshow version, and actually having the hood up conceals his oddly large head. The gloves are from Faramir. :lol

While I was playing dress-up with Han, I noticed just how bad the paint job was on his hair. The color was wrong (as has been noted before) and it was quite sloppy -- there were places on the edges of his face where what was obviously supposed to be hair was painted skin color. So I repainted his hair. I didn't want to have to repaint the whole head, so I didn't fix the eyebrows. I made the color brown instead of black, and it really does help the likeness quite a bit. This is obviously Harrison Ford. I'm not sure that the difference comes through in these pictures, but it really does help the figure.

I never believed the skin painted hair to be sloppy work; it always struck me a late attempt to deal with the fat face comments, but adding more skin/face to the portrait, it might make it all balance out, and I feel it certainly helped, the hairline was a bit too much and needed to be cut back.

How can adding more skin help with a fat face problem? Wouldn't that just exacerbate it? In any case, I think it looked terrible.

Edit: Do you mean that they were afraid of making his cheeks look too chubby, and so gave him more skin by his temples? I should have taken some pictures, but I noticed that mine also had the sloppiness by the collar where his hair met his neck, so I think it's just a production problem and not a conscious decision.

Different costumes just make the headsculpt look even worse.

That is what I meant. On my Han, the hairline pulled back is a clean paint app, so that doesn't seem like slop to me. The angle of the sculpted hairline would make his cheeks seem significantly wider than his forhead, giving a fatter appearance, with a bit more temple their, a frontal view looks more like he has an even width to his face from jaw to forehead.

I don't think Hasbro ever did any better than this vintage Kenner. Doesn't even look too bad now

That actually has really nicely fitting clothes and a decent headsculpt. Definitly way better than any of the Hasbro stuff.

Had a go at updating my ESB Han. repainted the head which i think i'll lighten the hair again, new boots, changed belt buckle silver from gold and i filled in the hip area to stop the falling in look. Still on the lookout for a new black belt for around the waist but sofar good i think.

Repaint looks great, but not digging the boots. They look a little oversized, mostly the bunching around the ankles. Although that could be a function of the skinny legs... maybe if you filled that in a bit with some padding it would look better.

With all the hoopla surrounding ANH Han, I took some new shots of my ESB Han. Trev's ANH sculpt just blows this one out of the water. If I had the funds right now, I'd be grabbing an ANH version right now.

ANH may have ended up with caterpillar eyebrows, but these look like freakin' centipedes!!

I think Trev's sculpt is definitely better, but I think the ESB figure is a lot nicer than most say so. I prefer the ANH mostly because I prefer that costume and time in Han's life, ESB was probably my least favorite look for solo, between the different outfit, his hair style and Harrison looked a little plumper than ANH and Jedi.
