I would like something I could use after the challenge, so how about if we do an "addition to existing line" theme?

Same here and seeing as atm Im collecting alot of SW then SW or SW EU ? or how about a new SW / SW EU character one generated by us ? eg

You make up a background for your character (time, place, species, allegiences, loves, age etc)

post the background so we have an idea and then wow us all with a finished piece ! in 2 / 3 months time !

Loadsa

Jedi
Imperials
Rebels
Bounty Hunters
Sith

:chewThe JIRBS Challenge :emperor

etc

or

Ive a few BSG figures and Id really like to do a BSG figure (if not a SW figure) from the current stuff

But like everyone else squeezing in the time is an issue

Maybe this has been mentioned but... non-superhero/non-traditional (ie no tights) comic book characters. Like Hellboy, Tank Girl, Road to Perdition, Sin City, Popbot, SCUD, Grendel, etc.

OK how about if we expand this idea a little. If you're going to make an "expansion figure" you have to have several figures of the existing line posed with the custom so its not just arbitrary.
Maybe make it more interesting and you have to make a specific scene.

How about our own interpretations of Batman villians? DA and I are already thinking about that ourselves. Could be fun to see the variety to different ideas on the same characters and the variety of characters as well.

Just a thought.

Well, I like that as I am already working on finishing up my BATMAN 1939 set. I am in design for The Red Monk, The Penguin, Harvey Dent-Two-Face, Commissioner Gordon, Robin & Batgirl to add to my set of seven I have already done, Batman, BW, Alfred, Joker, Catwoman, Mr Freeze & Dr. Death.
So, I will do those anyway. Might be a nice new thead idea, regardless of any challenges. BATMAN VARIANT CUSTOMS :D

As for the other ideas, sound good to me. The Star Wars ones I like, and I like the posting with other characters idea. Always good to see them in context anyway.

Good flow of ideas. You know, if the next challenge is not the one YOU want, maybe the one after will be. We need to decide soon and maybe set up more than one, so everyone knows all challenges for a year. Maybe we decide two challenges, one for the Spring, and one for Halloweenish time...pre-Halloween this go round, so we don't get into Spook again.
Just a thought. :D

More ideas please!

I've seen your Batman, Joker, and Mr. Freeze Les, but haven't seen the others. Are they on your site or your thread I and just missed them? Glad you like my idea too. A Challenge with Batvillians would certainly motivate me even more.

As for your other works-in-progress Bat-customs, PLEASE post them when you are done! I'd love to see them.

Bump:D Anyone up for a martial arts or ninja customs?

ALRIGHT! The 3rd Challenge is being discussed once more! :rock

Whatever you guys want to do!

I am swamped til May, but will do what I can.
Get this going again guys! C'mon! We got so many new customs guys here now! This should take off!

Thanks for the bump, I missed this thread the first time through (because I wasn't that interested in customs at the time).

How 'bout a "finish the line" challenge? Pick an unmade character from Buff, The X-Files, Friday the 13th ( :banghead ), etc. and go nuts.

To be honest, to me, this is the most engaging suggestion of all the ones offered (I think it has been mentioned in here somewhere), because I know we all have figures we would love to have in sets that were stopped or incomplete.
Comments?

I was on the phone with DA Josh tonight, and he is stoked about another challenge, so we both wanted to put forth an "Originals" theme, where we as customizers make something figure-wise totally new and original for all to see. That way, each artist can surprise us all with some wild new thing.

It's an idea. :D

Keep it going....

How about original ideas of Batman villians/characters. Josh's Two-Face is a great example. Make them realistic, reinvent them, or just make an iconic version of the character. It doesn't matter. There is something there for everyone. Gordon and the GPD for the military type customizers, the villians for sickos like DA, Alfred and other supporting characters for truely inspired pieces, Catwoman, Ivy, and Harley for the girls, and of course Batman for anyone else. I can really see any type of customizer (even me who really isn't much of one) making something here.

Plus I already have some ideas. :D

Man Buttmunch is on fire with the Batman theme... you know if you made an original character it could be Batman related. Or at least that could be your inspiration for the character.

Hi, guys.

I hope you dont mind me joining in on this but I love the Idea of an original character.

Keep us posted with this one. I will definitly join in.

Dean :D

I sense a direction here.....

Original Batman characters would suit me to a T, since I already have my unfinished Batman 1939 series that lacks about five characters I would love to add in anyway. To say I am not into that is an understatement!
I was talking of making my 1939 style Harvey Dent a year or so before Josh ever got his totally original (and rockin') Two-Face going, so that is a good character for my set, or a 30's looking gangster Penguin, or a Gordon, or even a Riddler or heaven help me, a Robin...
Point is, there is plenty of Batman interest here.

But, if we keep this next challenge within an original characters theme, even if it is original takes on established characters, I think there is more interest as there are no limits.

You guys hash this out more. I hope we can have a vote soon and get another challenge started before the end of the weekend???
Let's go! Chop! Chop! :clap

I think the "original take on established characters" is definately the way to go. That way we can do Batman stuff and others can do whatever they want. Everyone is happy. :D

"Original takes on established characters" means kinda "fan fiction" to us Star Wars geeks?
