Unlikely to be a DX since none of the other chaired figures are, but this should be the largest and most elaborate chair easily. $200 sounds realistic unfortunately and for that I'll stick to the DX. Besides I don't want all my figures to be seated.

Are they making a new one, or is it only the throne?

Why would they only sell the throne, they'd limit themselves to people who already own the old Cannibal Jack.

I really dont get why hot toys would remake a figure from dead man's chest, instead of showing us another figure from the new movie, like black beard.

Don't take his word for it. I for one liked (loved) every movie in the trilogy :)

I was going to say that. They need to stop re-doing figures and give us something new. Im still waiting for Barbosa. I feel like the only one they should redo from the last 2 POTC movies is Davey Jones. It was a good figure for the time, but I feel they could do much better. :dunno

+1

I don't understand :cuckoo::cuckoo:.... We've just got one Jack, and a DX!!.

Hot Toys are over-exploiting with Iron-Man, BruceLee, and Jack Sparrow/Deep.... I don't know if I'm the only one, but I want to see other licenses as Metal Gear for example :dunno

Huh. If it is Cannibal Jack it'd be the first time that HT every went back and blantantly redid a figure. Sure they are adding the throne but other than the height of the figure there isn't much to improve on with that one.

First time? They redid the original suit Batman, TDK suit Batman, V.1 Joker, The Mk.3, the Mk.2, The throne is just as much an addition as adding some bullet holes to Iron Man's armor, etc. Also the quality improvement will be great, look at the V.1 Jack DX comparison a few pages ago, the head and body propotions aren't the only things that look better, the entire costume has improved.

All they really have to do is plop the original Cannibal Jack head sculpt on the DX figure and vuala! :lol

Just saw the film - it could have been better but I did enjoy it. Nice and simple to follow unlike the last two. I was rather disappointed with Blackbeard - nowhere near as scary as they made him out to be - Johnny Depp was just as you expect but the real gem with Barbossa - his storyline is the best, espesh the ending < I'll put a spoiler below - don't read it if you don't want the film wrecking

Barbossa does wear his pirate costume but only at the very end - he was pretending to be in the King's Privateers to get revenge on Blackbeard for taking the Pearl and forcing him to chop off his own leg.

I have to ask, what do you mean "scary"? Like he didn't literally frighten you by turning into a scary demon monster in 3d, or like he didn't seem a threat to the other characters? Blackbeards probably the only real element I truely care about going into this movie.

Original Suit Batman was under the guise of it's appearance in The Dark Knight not Batman Begins. The Dark Knight suit was under the guise of being a DX and included the parts and portions to create the Sonar Suit look, the Joker was again under a DX with the parts and portions given to create the Cop uniform, the MK III was done as a Battle Damaged piece and marketed as such with interchangable plates for a "clean" version, the MK II is being done again under the stipulation of it's appearance in Iron Man 2 with removable parts to create the autopsy scene.

Given that the original Cannibal Jack also included a head to create a DMC plain Jack, there is nothing that could be "loopholed" with that figure to warrant a new one since he never appeared that way again. The throne isn't a kin to a battle damaged piece but more if they re-released the Wolverine: Origins figure with a log and ax accessory. Quite a bit different.

You never really felt as if he was a threat - there is one part where he burns someone alive which demostrates his character if you like - but the way he talks, acts etc just dosen't intimidate, I expected him to be the baddest of the baddest pirates ever but...it kinda falls flat. As for turning into a scary demon monster lol nothing that cool happens he's kinda... just...a man....with eyeliner.
