Yes but given the new face swap thing, they could always do a screaming eyes open head, neutral eyes open head, and an eyes closed head with the other ones painted on his eyelids, etc, there are definately options. It'd be easier without the PERS to deal with as well. Also they could then still include that pole with fruit or whatever on top of the chair. I'm not even interested in picking it up, but I guarentee they'll find a way to make it worth it.

Huh. If it is Cannibal Jack it'd be the first time that HT every went back and blantantly redid a figure. Sure they are adding the throne but other than the height of the figure there isn't much to improve on with that one.

Pretty much everything on the new Jack is much better than the old Jack's. The portrait and paint job are the only things you really couldn't do much better today, it's still some of their best sculpt work.

But the texturing in skin will likely go a long way to improve it anyway. And yes the outfit comparison on that pic a few pages back between old Jack and the DX isn't even close.

don't know if you guys know. some interesting facts.

1) dx jack uses the slim body similar as MJ's.
2) the hair is not molded. its made of rubber similar to predators. so you could style it and it looks better.
3) the ship's wheel is not made of wood. it's plastic.
4) they are using a new p.e.r.s system on dx06.
5) the fur around his waist is made of real marten fur
6) sword and belt buckles are real metal

Pretty much, the original Jack figure doesn't want to be a Pirate.

It was just weakly tailoried, there's far more fabric in the torso and sleeves than there should be, and the fabric doesn't really lay well so you can't even make it hang on him and look nice despite being excessive, it just puffs out.

The 2 things I'm most pleased with improved over the first Jack are the sash and white shirt because they just look fantastic and really replicate how his costume behaves in the movie, I just hope it's not something they were able to get all nice on the proto and doesn't quite work on the production piece.

Great they will do the cannibal Jack, I guess w'll see Ebay flooded with the old versions for cheap pretty soon.

finally got caught up in all the recent gossip. nice to know/assume/hope that a newer cannibal Jack may be coming out! But, in terms of more Jack, I really hope to see a COTBP Jack from HT.

Oh I'm not arguing it isn't, I'm just saying that it sets a new precedence in terms of revisiting a figure. For example, folks in the Marvel thread were so sure that a Mark I couldn't be done, wouldn't be done over again. Looking at Cannibal Jack, literally they could create a Mark I body with interchangable arms to look empty and the "slab" and provide an interchangable head with better Stark sculpt to be put on a TT and be in the same realm. It's just interesting...

It is quite curious, especially to be hinting at another Jack Sparrow already as a next figure, seems like a bad idea to me, if they have any intent to do other OST figures, they should get them out, plus ensure that all DX Jack's sell off first, unless there's no clean portrait with the new Cannibal, then folks will still need the DX for a non Cannibal look or repaint it.

There are plenty of new characters they could release, as well as others I wouldn't mind being revisited (D. Jones, Turner or even Swann!)

It's likely that only Jack is worthy of multiple versions.

But if they branch out to the older films, I do hope they do a proper pirate Barbossa before the repeat Cannibal Jack and Davy Jones.

I think people that missed out just want a new better version for themselves.

Of course, we are knee deep in Pirates hype and excitement right now. Depending on how good the movie really is, this could all go away rather quickly... as the hype and excitement moves on to Captain America or whatever else.
