same here. I went in expecting it to be a lot like it's predecessors and with it not, I was very disappointed initially to the point I canceled my PO for this figure. but when i watched it again a couple weeks later, i appreciated it for what it was and POed this figure again. I still hate that there wasn't a big boat battle but overall, like you said, I enjoy just as much as the others.

Before EB, it was the only chance to get a 'snickering Jack' sculpt
that's why. That's the way I have known/liked the 'Jack Sparrow' right from the first movie...Before EB, it was the only chance to get a 'snickering Jack' sculpt

, it's smiling yes but that's not a jack sparrow smile!
..i hope the quick withdrawal of the smile proto pics is evidence that's there not happy with it and that there doing major tweaks!

From my knowledge the smiling face that was shown was never approved so they needed to change it.

With some luck, they decided while getting it approved, they'd stick it to EB again and went for the same expression as their figure.

I actually dont like "sinister evil grin Jack". I hope they dont have it look mean.
I think EB came out a little too sinister because they probably used the Publice Enemies poster as a reference.
I think a difference in the eyes would make it more like Jack, maybe a slight showing of teeth but not as much as the original HT portrait.
And still no news...

I like that one least of every Jack Sparrow HT's ever done, that expression just isn't his character.
That's not his smile!
I dunno, tilt the head down, move his eyes to his right... could work.
Even if it did improve it ..which i doubt , i don't want a sculpt that looks only decent in a certain pose/angle ..this sculpt should be fixed and look like Jack fresh from the box!

That's my thought, I feel that half the problem with that picture is the way the head is posed. They have him looking up with puppy dog eyes and he's lit as if there's a halo about him - no wonder it doesn't look like Jack! Tilt the head down, roll the eyes slightly up or off to one side in a more mischievous expression and the smile should work better, toothiness and all...
