Wow Josh! How cool is it to repaint a Predator?!!! :rock
Welcome to the club, bro! Great work! Looks ready for the Hunt out on the Town! Super stuff!

Takes some time don't it! :lol Lots more surfaces than most things. Nice escape from skintones too.

Oh, and love your photos Chavez!

Was watching Predator 2 today on Spyke, and is it me, or is the Hot Toys mask pitted alittle bit too much? Fromw what I saw, the mask's texture looked somewhat like the AVP Masks, though with a scratch or two.

BTW Excellent repaint, Josh! I wish I had the cash to buy one right now:monkey2...

i just recently saw predator 2 again and noticed that too. the Hot Toys mask is a bit too textured - it's still awesome though, and should not be a deterent at all for purchase.

Thanks a lot guys! I really did have a good time painting it, though next time I won't go as far into a full on repaint like I did this time. I covered the head area and redid it entirely and also the whole chest, arms and legs entirely. Only areas that used the factory paint was the mouth, back and hands/feet. All others were covered entirely and started from scratch. :rock

All in all a very good time painting it, and I love the way his armor looks now. Will take some nice shots today.

Awesome pics as usual Josh, I do have an off topic question though. What if something is busted on my Predator kit, can I order a replacement thru Hot Toys? Anyone ever have any luck with them? I need a new croth loin cloth thingy. Help dudes. :monkey2

Ive emailed them reguarding this and no reply at all.

Yeah there's no way they will email you back with an issue like this, and if they did it would be rare. They don't have the best customer service. Kinda like one voice in a room of thousands of people. Sad, I know.

This is the best Predator (until Elder comes out) so I'll take a slightly over-pitted mask for now :rock

That is not good. I have been spoiled by Sideshow's customer service so it worries me when I have to deal with other companies when there is a problem.

Are there a lot of problems with Hot Toys products usually or is this rare?

My Aliens Warrior came with a Left foot defect which is VERY common amongst them. My Predator 2 came with a faulty combi stick, i had to fix it myself

I've had the same exact problem with mine, what you should do is attempt to get a replacment though your dealer. I went through Alter Ego comics and they sent me a replacment figure within a week.
Breakages on minor things such as weapons or gear is common with Hot Toys and most 1:6 manufacturers. I had replacment parts sent to me when I've had broken HT items that were bought from Toy Square, and Sideshow usually replaces the whole figure.

The loin cloth debacle however is a major blunder by the HT folks. It would've been so easy to remedy this problem by making his briefs out of real or fake leather, exactly like they were in the movie. It would've also allowed much more poseability in the hips.
They do great work, but this is a problem they should've seen coming.

Like Screamingmetal said, some breakage (especially of small parts) is not uncommon, but fortunately a lot of times it can be repaired without too much trouble, even with moderate modeling skills. Body parts is another thing and they can be a major hassle. It would be a real comfort knowing that Hot Toys had customer service like Sideshow's, but I don't think we can expect that to happen anytime soon, unfortunately.

Hot Toys quality has improved a lot compared to a few years ago. The small detailed gear and weapons aren't quite as flimsy as they once were, but with things this small and fragile you almost have to expect something to break or fall off. Having lots of patience and taking extra care is probably the best way to cut down on the frustration and disappointment factor.
