Hot Toys quality has improved a lot compared to a few years ago. The small detailed gear and weapons aren't quite as flimsy as they once were, but with things this small and fragile you almost have to expect something to break or fall off. Having lots of patience and taking extra care is probably the best way to cut down on the frustration and disappointment factor.

I agree completely. Patience is key in putting Hot Toys figures together. And a hair dryer! It does wonders for making them easier to put together, and preventing breakage.

What parts do you use the hair dryer on? i had hell putting the arms and legs on mine.

If those little posts on the forearm and lower leg sections were giving you trouble, try rubbing a tiny bit of silicon lube (or vaseline) on the ends before pressing them into the holes. That helps reduce friction and will hopefully prevent them from possibly snapping off. Even being careful I still managed to snap off the end of one of those f'n little posts, but I wasn't following my usual HT protocol and forgot to add the grease in all the excitement! Lesson learned...again.:monkey2

To answer your question about the hair dryer, it works on just about anything made of softer plastic, and is especially good for getting heads onto neck posts. The new Predator's head is made of a softer vinyl and doesn't have the harder plastic inserts that the AvP Preds did. I popped mine on without even needing the hair dryer. Some people prefer using hot water instead. It works like a charm and I use it often, but I'll try to avoid getting things wet if it can be helped. Hope this helped.:D

I did not use the hair dryer on any of the arm & leg joints...

I did use it on popping the head and it actually helped tremendously on getting the armor on as well. I was able to take the belt apart with ease and put it back on while the plastic was still soft and I used it on the chest armor as well (I actually took the back apart and not the front like the instructions say).

The Predator 2 was by far the easiest Predator to put together.

Yay my Chopper arrived today. When my Pred 2 Elder ships ill put all 3 of em together. My Chopper, AVP Elder & Pred 2 Elder

Use a hair dryer on the briefs around the front, sides, and bottom, avoid heating the peg too much. Then you can use it on the head's neck post; it's not entirely necessary since I put the head on and off the first P2 Predator without the dryer easily, but it really should be mandatory for the briefs.

My Predator 2 should be shipping out for BBTS any day now. I can't wait for it to arrive, it will be my first predator.

Good thing I check this thread periodically as I built my first Predator yesterday - the AvP Eldar Predator and after about an hour was cursing up a storm just getting the head on. I surprised by the height of it, even though I have seen that they list them at 14" but it is different when you put it together and it is beside a 12" figure. The next up is the Grid Alien.

The head for me is also the most frustrating part

Anyone have a chopper? how do the skull racks fit on?

Well, yes... I have the Chopper, but... the skull racks? With a tremendous amount of patience and lots of fiddling! I really wish I could give you a tried and true method for getting those suckers to stay put and look like the box photos, but maybe someone else can provide that information for you. Has anybody else got a surefire way to get the skull trophy rack on without inducing fits? Anybody???

Yes, that is the COOLEST Predator sig ever!

As for how I got the skull posts to stay put...LOTS OF FUTZING!
I mean, lots! I used the dreads to help a bunch. Takes a plan putting them on, and making them tight enough and all that. Then you pose them, and use the dreads. They hang back some, but not too much. They are a pain though.
Good luck with that.

If I get a chance, I will gets shots of my fig and better post what I did.

Hello everyone! It's my first post here, and I wouldn't have even known about this place if I hadn't have stumbled across one of P!tu's youtube videos. Anywaaaaay...

I just bought my first Predator! I looked over SO many of the Predator 2 pics on this forum and HAD to have one, so I looked all over the net, and then ebay and scored one for $140 shipped. The best part is that it's from my own state, and even better, it's coming from a comic store that I've been in many times.

So my questions are, on a scale of 1-10, how difficult is it to put together? And what are some things I should be really careful with not to break when putting it together?

Thanks everyone, and I'll post pics when i get it!\

P.S. - One other thing.... I've seen those resin mask kits on ebay that come with like, 7 different helmets, if anyone has them and the P2 Predator, can you tell me if they look alright on the figurine?
