Will try to find an air-tight acrylic display case for my Leonidas figure, but do you recommend air-conditioning it once a week or something like that?

Now I'm worried to take my HT Batman Begins/Bruce Wayne and HT Batman '89 out of their box. I'm curious as if anyone had any issues with the HT Bank Robber Joker clown mask? I haven't had any myself, just wondering because it is made out of rubber.

In regards with the cracking of the bodies on rubber figures, I've been told about a homemade solution that can be used to wipe the figures with a cloth. I found out through Hobby Store owner, he said he would send me the mix of the solution via email. Who knows if it will actually help prevent these issues; once I get the mix I will definitely pass it along. Don't worry, I won't pass it along without testing it first.

By coincidence, my figures are displayed in an air-conditioned room. It is probably best to keep it in an air-conditioned room, as there is less humidity & heat build-up because you turn on the air-conditioner every few hours and keep it on for longer.

I think keeping any figure that has rubber parts - especially rubber bodies/suits in the box is asking for trouble. Take them out from time to time and display them in a room that doesn't have drastic changes in temperature. If you keep them in their boxes for months or years - don't be surprised to find them stuck to the plastic inserts or inside of the box.

I can confirm the issue with the ED209. I know three people who own ED. All three had to get replacements for that rubber covering.

And you need to have some amount of humidity in the air otherwise the rubber will just dry out faster. Keep them out of UV light-even indirectly.
Do not use flourescent lighting (UV) or incandescent lighting (heat)
to display.

So far my Leonidas has absolutely no problems *knocks on wood* despite having a bent arm pose and that is since it was released a while back. I watch out for light exposure and have display lights that do not emit UV and do not get warm/hot.
I can't imagine an airtight case being very good for the rubber though as it will get too dry in there. I think regular humidity from a room where people are regularly in (mine's in the living room) should help it from drying out.....I also don't have an air conditioning which really sucks the humidity out of a room.

I rotate my figs. Display them for like a month, then back in the box for 6 months, etc....

Could anyone with a Leonidas figure do me a favor, check theirs and see if it has a smell? My Hellboy figure has this weird smell and the rubber body has lost a bit of its color on the stomach, looks dry. I wonder if this smell is a result of the rubber deteriorating. I never noticed it before but my Leonidas figures has a similar smell to my Hellboy figure, but not as strong.

LOL.. Me too!! Luckily, knock on wood, I have yet to read anyone that has had issue with the body. I pose it with the arms to his sides just in case.

Thanks. My Leonidas figure has this smell that can only be smelt when up close, like 3 cm from it. My Hellboy figure has a bad smell that can be smelt from 50 cm away... I think maybe it "infected" my Leonidas figure because I don't remember my Leonidas figure having a smell until I put Leonidas and Hellboy in the same detolf.

I have the Sarah Connor and never bend the arms... it's okay so far.

One issue I had is that the rubber bodies also stain REALLY fast. I bought a brand new HT muscle body, put on a black BBI jumpsuit (not some cheap thing off eBay, premium quality, as good as HT) for literally five minutes to see if it fit, took it off and it was badly stained permanently. It was shocking to see it go that quick, and there's nothing that will take the stain off.

Was the jumpsuit made of spandex?

Always dip pieces of clothing in this mixture:
- 1/4 teaspoon of water
- 3/4 teaspoon of vinegar
Leave dipped for 5 minutes then rinse with lukewarm water, and dry it.

This will ensure the color of the clothing sticks onto the cloth/spandex for good, and it won't stain the rubber body.

Did this to my Barney Ross, and the rubber body never got any stain from the black shirt.

Any deterioration on it? Leakage etc?
