Re: NECA Terminator 2 figures

I will definitely be buying this entire line. Is there any chance of Neca making one in the 18" scale?

Re: NECA Terminator 2 figures

certainly they will be in basic 6 inch scale as usual. those are just the 2-ups, like they did with the TDK movie masters figures, they would have ultra detailed 2 ups and then the final product would be smaller but still very detailed but not AS detailed as the 2 ups were.

Actually, NECA releases 18" versions of the figures fairly frequently, so there's a good chance the T2 figures will see at least 1 figure released in the 18" scale.

Re: NECA Terminator 2 figures

yeah thats ussually what they do is they make a whole wave of 6 inch figures since that is the size norm for most collectors of these lines, and have at least one 12 inch figure for ppl who like that kind of thing. im not into those 12 inch figs. mcfarlane did something similiar with there T3 line, a bunch of 6 inch figs and one 12 inch basic arnold.

Re: NECA Terminator 2 figures

I get that these are pictures of the 2-ups and this line will be in the 6" or 7" scale, I was just wondering if eventually we could get one in the 18" scale like they ended up doing for their "Freddy Vs Jason" version of Jason. If they are planning to release a 12" than I guess the chances of that happening aren't likely. The 12" scale doesn't interest me as most of my collection is either 6" or 18" scale.

Re: NECA Terminator 2 figures

What made you preferance 18'' over 12''? I dabbled in 18'' and bought NECAs Endoskeleton and Robocop but I regret it now. That scale is just too big, and if their production values in detail&paint were to be in proportion with what Hot Toys does at 12'' then 18'' would cost an absolute fortune for each figure. However I find them to be inferior in these regards so I don't see the point at all. Plus theres far less diversity.

So,

space required shelf height
less detail in sculpt&paint
far fewer licenses/far fewer figures - these factors go against 18'' for me.

Re: NECA Terminator 2 figures

Hi, everyone. What do you think about my custom figure?

I prefer the 18" scale because most of my collection is Neca/old-school McFarlane and they usually do their large figures in that size. So, its mostly just that I want it to fit with my existing figures. If it weren't for that, I probably wouldn't care.

Re: NECA Terminator 2 figures

Something is off IMO. Like the anatomy is wrong in places....maybe someone could eleborate further....

Well, his thighs are WAY too big. And he wasn't that bulky across the chest in the movie.

And who wears a brown belt with black pants and black boots?
Has he no sense of fashion? :D

But, it's a great custom. What'd you use for the base figure?

His upper body is too big - the arms, shoulders (esp deltoids), lats and his quads. Because his torso is so built-up his head looks too small. Otherwise, it's great work.

Re: NECA Terminator 2 figures

i think the issue witht that custom is that he all around looks more like T3 arnold, not T2 arnold.

Re: NECA Terminator 2 figures

Gepetto, like others have said its just the proportions in certain areas and the face likness but really nice effort! Not bad in comparison to those vynil kits of the terminator from the 90s. I like the detail in the endo arm and body paint work you've done.

Re: NECA Terminator 2 figures

Hi, again! Thanks for everybody's rating! :)
Well, I have never made a sculpture previously. This is my first work, which I made at 2007.

"What'd you use for the base figure?"
I'd not use base figure. From sculptoring to painting is my own work, and I used those photos which I found in internet.
Here are some photos from the beginning:

Re: NECA Terminator 2 figures

I had a feeling you made it from scratch - well done. I'd be proud as hell if I'd made that. I wouldn't consider it a substitute for an official figure but as a personal piece of work its fantastic.
