I have to say, I wasn't as impressed with these as I was with the Evil Dead exclusive they had on display.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Thanks for those Blade.

Well the Kyle Reese likeness isn't as bad as that first pic suggested. Of course that has to get mass-produced.

I'm all-in for this wave.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

The T-1000 is boring.
The Idea of an freezed T-1000 Figure is great, but this figure is only an Repaint.

Kyle looks better than the first pics, but this is not good enough.

The Problem with the T-800(on the Foto?) is the poor silver.
Looks not like Metal and the Haires are to short.

For a possible 18" version this must fixed.

An 18" T1 was sooooooo great.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Great pictures ! Well, sure the likeness is far from being a sucess but I'm glad to see that, as usual, NECA paid attention to the most minute details: I hoped they would attach the piece of string Reese jury rigs, and here it is ! And I think they also improved the paint job on the shotgun, it's not as bland and plain as the T800's shotgun in the Police Shoutout for instance. So I guess it's a mixed bag, but a bag I'll still buy - I've been waiting for a Kyle Reese figure so long that I'm not going to snub this one, even though it kinda fails in the likeness department. I'm taking time to look at it now, and I think they screwed up the superior part of the face - if you hide the top of the head with your hand for a minute, you'll see the mouth sort of ressembles Michael Biehn's. The eyes and the hairdo are what ruin it a little, though.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

I honestly couldn't tell you what it is that I think is throwing it off. I thought the hair was OK, so we're opposite again on that one!
I guess because of the lack of Kyle Reese figures over the years I'm not as used to looking at his face to really pin down in my head what it takes for a figure to look like Michael Biehn.

Re: Official NECA The Terminator Thread

Those shots of Reese actually make it look a lot better. Before it looked like one of Hasbro's old Luke Skywalker headsculpts or a zombie with a decaying nose.

Lol, agreed, this is getting to be a habit :p. I remember his hair as being more spiky, if you see what I mean, as opposed to the kind of 80's-anchored cut he sports here. One thing on which I whole-heartedly agree with you though is that the lack of Reese figures in the past numbed our critical judgement - we lack comparison and gauging. But you're right, it's difficult to pin point what exactly is wrong with it. One would have to actually take a photo of Michael Biehn and see the differences, but it takes a somewhat artistic, aesthetic fiber I lack.

Now, to be fair, I guess some likenesses are easier to nail than others. Arnold for instance, has a unique, trademark face which must be easier to sculpt. I'd say it's almost caricatural - what I mean is that his traits are very marked and defined. For Biehn, however, the characteristics of his face stem more from an agglomeration of details, in his looks, in the little scar he has on his chin and so on. And this is precisely what T1 hinges on: the opposition between a monolithic, gigantic antagonist and a more weak, sleek - human, simply - figure. And this may be more difficult to get, especially, as someone already said, for a figure this size. Just a wild guess.

I've been going back to fill holes in my collection. Looking forward to more figures in the future! But not sure what else NECA has planned. I thought of a bunch of possibilities while watching the movies over the weekend.

Excellent shots. I'd photograph my own NECA collection except due to the poor light in my flat I'd have to use flash and we all know what effect that has even on Hot Toys figures.

Did none of your T-1000's break Maulfan? In the end every single one I bought suffered at least one break. Repaired as many as I could recently. I'm talking elbows, shoulders and heads.

Excellent photos MaulFan!

For anyone who is trying to fill some holes in their collection. BBTS has a PRE-ORDER warehouse find of T-800 Battle Across Time, T-800 Steel Mill, T-1000 Pescadero and T-000 Gallaria Mall for $59.99. Not a bad price. I got my order placed just in case.

My order with BBTS has already billed and shipped! That didn't take long! I also caved about bought the SDCC Exclusive T-1000 off Amazon. So I caught up on all Terminator figures in a few swoops.

So far my wishlist includes: T2 T-800 on Motorcycle (more like a figure/statue), Tanker Truck Damaged T-1000 (also more like a figure /statue), T2 Future War John Connor, T2 Sarah Connor (Neca's version), T1 Future War Kyle Reese, T3 T-1, T3 Sergent Candy, T3 Final Battle T-800. This should hold us over a few more waves of practical figures.

I hope they do some fully articulated figures in the future.

Ah... what could have been. :monkey2

They look so bad, like cheap toy.
The new articculted Figures looks like they have underwears ofer the pants.

But a good idea is Neca make two sorts of figures.
Same Sculpt, same accessories, same paintjob.

The one with Articulation, and the other without joints.

Thought this was as good a place as any to post my custom T3 Arnie:

Would quite like to see Neca tackle this film tbh.
