Got my first Predator today (Chopper). It is freakin' sweet! But of course, you all know that already. I can't wait to put it together. Hopefully it will not be my last. I have an Elder on backorder, but I don't hold out too much hope for getting it. I'll wait a while longer before asking for a refund, though because it was a really good price.

Ok, Here's a Medicom Predator that I converted onto a BBi G3.5 body

I like the HT preds but just don't Love them for the Price... Bobble heads and all kind of put a damper on me getting them.
:rotfl :D :monkey3

We all have things we admire but don't spend our money on, but for many Predator fans these figures are like an answer to our dreams. I believe it was Steve Wang who sculpted a really nice 12" Predator action figure prototype for some toy company many years ago, based on the first movie, but it never went into production. Ever since then I've been wondering if anyone would ever try to make one, and now it has finally happened! I've got every one of these big ugly plastic MoFos, and to me it's money well spent, because these are exactly what makes collecting action figures so much fun, imho. Once you have one of your own, you'll know what I'm talking about! :D :monkey5

That figure could use a serious Les-terizing paint job

Hey, guys.

Just got my Chopper. Got him loose for $55 plus shipping. Hate the helmet on him, but I will sculpt some custom helmets for him - hehe.

Also - the head seems a tad big. What do you guys think?

I may try to sculpt a smaller head and transplant the spines, locks.

Man, what a deal! Congratulations. They do look a bit large-headed, but you just have to work on the "hair". Besides, the preds are a bit big-headed...

And here's some über-cool customs I thought you'd like to see:

Although in a different scale, they're good food for thought.

Dang! Those are some NICE customs. I like the one where he's flying through the air the best.

Thanks for the link, and thanks for the suggestion with the hairlocks. That will help to make the head look smaller.

Yup - it's a good price: however, he had no box and was already put together (some pieces were sloppily applied - I'll have to do some cleaning up).

Hey, Ironman - Yeah. I want to sculpt a couple helmets. I like the Celtic and Scar versions. And I want to make a Predator 1 version as well as make my own interpretation of a helmet.

I should have gotten the Celtic Predator when I had the chance, but I was offered him at a time where I was already buying way to many things already (and feeling guilty for it) lol.

Out of all my Predators, Celtic is my favorite. I like the bodies and paint on the ancient Elders the most, but the entire package on Celtic is the best.

I've been thinking about a custom HT Predator myself. But the expense of buying another one just to customize is too much to approach the subject.

Hey, Screamingmetal-

Yeah - there's something very primitive and deadly looking about the Celtic Predator - which are the two qualities I look for.

Lately - I've been in this trend were I hunt for loose figures so that I can modify or customize them.

I just recently got two Medicom Gatchaman figures (the nicer original Japanese versions) for 20 bucks for the two. One is missing a weapon and helmet antennae. At that pricing - I'm not so hesitant to mess with them.

I just finished modifying the neck of my Asia edition Ancient so that it now has a lot more range of motion. I've found the movement of the neck joints HT designed for their Preds to be too limited and I wanted to see if I could make it so the head could be much more moveable. I basically just filed away some plastic around the bottom of the neck section at the front and back, a relatively simple operation. It's hardly visible at all and it will be hidden by the collar, anyway.

I haven't put the head on yet, so I'll try to post some pics before I do, to show what I did in case anyone wants to try this on their own Preds. We all know how difficult it can be to get the heads onto the neck and I don't even want to try taking it off again unless I absolutely have to, so I'd highly recommend doing this BEFORE you pop the heads on! :D

The thing about Celtic, his mask may look a little larger then the others, but it's just so much more detailed and otherworldly looking. I really wish Hot Toys would re-release him in a battle damaged version, I like him so much I'd buy another one.
I own those two Medicom Gatchaman figures, they're very well done and were super cheap the second time they came out when Previews carried them. The Takara Gatchaman Princess Jun figure goes well with them too.
I would consider customizing a Pred if I could find them at $55 too. I wish they were all that cheap.

Totally agree. Of all the Preds I love looking at his mask, the detail and design is simply amazing.

I would totally buy in a instant a battle damaged Celtic, something similar to Ani-Com Scar. I'm actually surprised Hot Toys hasn't done so already. It seems they like to release slight variants, and they are definitely getting their money's worth out of the molds, with 7 different Predators released already.
