Anyone with a Hot Toys Predator, have problems with rusting on the springs that connect the helmet to the backpack?

You could use old guitar strings, just cut them to the right length and they work very well!

I bought Scar when he first came out and haven't noticed any rust yet.
Gdb, I also partially screwed up the coil on my Celtic, but it wasn't a major straitening, just a small section was effected. It happened when I was trying to push the pin back into the coil after it had fallen out; I applied a little too much pressure and I muffed it.
As to where to find a stainless steel coil, I think an electronics store might have them. I'm not sure what they'd be used for other then protecting an internal wire.

Yep, that's the kinda thing I did. And I first I thought I didn't care because I was all about taking the helmet on and off and posing him holding it, but recently I really like the look of the metal wires when he's wearing it and my AniCom Scar's coils are so strong and snug that I can keep it connected and just let the helmet hang when he's not wearing it.

Hey, that's a really good idea! Hadn't thought of that one. Metal guitar or other musical instrument strings should be fairly easy to come by and ought to last forever, too.

A few more pics of the Ancient Predator (Asian edition). Same as the SSC exclusive except for the mask. Either one of these would be a great addition to anyone's Predator collection, imho. I LOVE these figs! Sideshow says they're getting low on stock, so it might be a good time to snag one before they sell out. "Want some candy?"

Is anyone making or know of someone who is makeing custom masks for the Hot Toys Preds? I have the Ani-Con Scar in a box and if I put him together I'd like to use his battle damaged face so I can put a new and different mask on him ( I already have a regular edition Scar put together with mask on ).

There are some 1/6 unpainted resin casts that occasionally pop up on ebay. Usually sold in lots of six or individually. They look really nice painted, and the seller claims they fit on the Hot Toys Preds.

Any chance your willing to sell or trade your Ani-Com Scar for a MIB BD Endo?.

I decided to decapitate my Elder Predator and give him the neck mod. I was surprised at what a big improvement just a little tweaking made. Now instead of staring off at the horizon he's staring right at the viewer. I'll try to post before and after pics tomorrow for comparison, so anyone who may be interested can see the difference.

Using a hair dryer made it easy as pie when I did it. Just heat it up and it pops right on with no problem.

It's a pretty simple operation really. The best time to do it would be before you assemble the head at the last step, but as KF said, a minute or so under a hair dryer is all it takes to soften the head at the neck joint enough so it comes off easily. I posted some pics of the neck mod a few pages back in this thread, but all it takes is a little filing away of some plastic around the base of the neck until you can tilt it forward and backward to a greater degree. That will allow you to pose the head in more interesting and life-like positions, imo. I'm pretty satisfied with the results. Here's a before and after photo to illustrate the difference it makes when the figure is fully assembled.

This is how it looked assembled pretty much right out of the box. This was about as far as his head could be tilted forward, so he looks like he's staring off into space...

And this is how it looks now after I worked on the neck. He's looking right into the eyes of the viewer and his cape even fits better! Now all I need to do is attach those pesky quills to his noggin and he's basically done!

Theses predators do look very nice, but I'm holding out for the original, and since he'd be by himself, maybe we could luck out and get two heads so we could have a closed mouth with helmet, and an open mouth head for that "You're one ugly mother%*$#er" roar he lets out before taking on Dutch.
