Seeing this in about 2 hours...I'm actually kind of nervous This movie actually means a lot to me and I don't want it to suck....

You didn't know they were 9 feet tall bald space humanoid alien guys?

I had no problem with that..until I saw this image. Looks different to what I've seen in the trailers. WAY too human. I don't want their faces to be unique to themselves, I wanted them all to look like sick, lifeless clones. The jaw/cheeks is/are too wide, and I was expecting every bit of their eyes to be a lifeless black color.

But yeah, disappointed. He looks goofy.

I knew the elephant thing was a suit,I still feel cheated, my whole life I thought that was the creature itself in the first alien..

but that is way too human looking, I was expecting (Like you said) slick lifeless clones, For some reason I picture them without noses too, kinda like voldemort but alien, I kept thinking something like that,
they look too human, I really don't care about this movie anymore, it might be good, but I dont give a crap, I read enough to know I wont enjoy it if I go to the movies, I will probably wait for the dvd,
it looks too nice too, i dont know, fail

Just saw this and the last minute undoes what was a great movie. So open ended and a lot of loose ends left untied. The jockey can't get back to the ship to tie in with the first movie and the birth creature sux.

That facial shot is not even the most un-flattering. Watching him walk around in his underpants for a minute afterwards with his naked WWE body is awkward. Because it really does just look like an ugly CGI human.

see I dont know why but I expected the engineers to look like this:

no nose, weird mouth, weird face texture, something cool and weird, it looks too human and it looks retarded,
I don't know, more alien, His Body sure does look weird and alien like that, wtf?

the face you guys show reminds me of this terrible CGI creature

The jockey doesn't have to get back to the ship because this isn't the same ship or planet thats in Alien. For some reason Ridley decided to tell the story of some other Space jockey ship on some other planet.

I think that's where the "this is not a prequel to Alien" comes in. Yes, it's in the same universe and takes place before Alien, but it's not on the same planet. I don't know whether they just weren't allowed to do a direct prequel to Alien or not, but I think many people watching the film are going to believe it is the same planet as on Alien.

The Engineer was on a mission to destroy earth. I'm guessing that during the incident aboard the ship he put himself into hypersleep to protect himself. Once he woke up his first thought would be to complete the mission. I guess it didn't help waking up to see the very race you were hoping to destroy standing right infront of you.

I noticed at the start the moon was LV 224 (?) or something like that so yeah that part does make sense. I expected it to tie in thanks for clearing it up for me. I tried to avoid everything before seeing it so I went in with no idea of what was going to happen.
I am kinda pissed about the ending it is eating away at me and I can't believe how poorly it was executed - from the moment the Jockey got out of the tube the movie went off the rails.

The Jockey: He is not CG though. They used a "revolutionary" prosthetics body molding technique where the entire body is covered in silicone.

As much as I was disappointed that he didn't have elephant like characteristics, it kinda makes sense that he should look human.
They created us in their own image.

What I did like was the classic structure of his face, the nose and chin looks like roman and greek sculpture, as if we evolved from this.
(Not sure where our ape ancestors fit in!). That pic out of context looks weird.

The scene where he is nearly naked works very well except when he bends over his abs pop/bend out like lumps of rubber..



But you will forget about this as soon as geriatric rubber coated Guy Pearse walks out with wis holographic dog...

My only problem with the proto-burster was it's size. Where the hell did it fit? Watch the embedded clips in this thread, the engineer's chest/gut area is not stretched at all, then a burster nearly the same size as the host is lying next to him. Is the Engineer a TARDIS?

Slightly let down by the film, looked amazing though.
