Re: Prometheus SUPER Spoilers!
Anyway, things I loved so much.
I loved the little nods, first off. Like the
When they're about the crash Prometheus into the ship
And I kept seeing the Face on everything...on little computers, and statues. I wonder if I was crazy, or just seeing things.
It was right before Shaw entered the room with Weyland. It's right on that little panel behind her. Someone look!
The birth scene, the first one...was just so perfect. I was cringing, and smiling at the same time. THAT is what I wanted to see from an Alien movie. Disgusting, creepy, disturbing, viseral stuff that hasn't been in the series since Alien.
I got a huge kick out of seeing the Space Jockey on screen. Especially when he got his chair out. Every Alien fan watching that got excited. Even if you hated the movie. You know you wanted to see that ____ing thing.
Loved seeing the ship.
And the ending scene was perfect. And the little Xeno was great.
But yeah, real stuff. I had no problems with logic, I guess because since I love Sci-Fi I really don't need everything explained in super detail. I mean, for the all the unanswered questions Prometheus had, Alien had just as many.
Which is why I'm having a hard time seeing how the script was "the worst thing ever" and how the movie made "no sense".
It did make sense. But a lot was left ambiguous. And so what? It makes it more interesting.
Was Vickers a robot? She had a surgical device that wasn't built for a woman....she called Weyland, father...does that mean she was Weyland's daughter? Or a creation? David called Vickers, mother....
What is the biological makings of the goo? Is it a weapon that mutates all lifeforms into something more evolved?
Was David told to infect Halloway? Or did he do it because he could? Or because he wanted to see what happens?
And did anyone really look at the mural? It looked like a squid like creature, with a Xeno underneath it.
Could these all be different creatures that can be created with this goo?
Honestly, none of this stuff are things that frustrate me. They just intrigue me. And I like that.
This is one of the best Science Fiction films of the last 12 years. Next to District 9.
It had a bit of everything.
And it looked fantastic. I could find flaws maybe. But eh. I'm too happy about the out come.
