The birth scene, the first one...was just so perfect. I was cringing, and smiling at the same time. THAT is what I wanted to see from an Alien movie. Disgusting, creepy, disturbing, viseral stuff that hasn't been in the series since Alien.

I got a huge kick out of seeing the Space Jockey on screen. Especially when he got his chair out. Every Alien fan watching that got excited. Even if you hated the movie. You know you wanted to see that ____ing thing.

The birth scene was so horrific to watch. I know some tough guys out there will probs say it wasn't that bad but when you're watching this with your wife/girlfriend/fiancee/any female it's quite a harrowing thing to watch.

I loved seeing the SJ suit up in the chair. There's a great shot of the helmet coming down over his head.

I have a question about the Engineers though: They obviously have to breathe oxygen like us but are they able to breathe in the toxic atmosphere on the planet. When David tells Shaw that he's coming for her he must have had to pop across the planet's surface to get to her.

My buddy next to me was freaking out. I was just so happy with what I was seeing. Maybe i'm a sick person, getting excited watching a poor woman get a giant squid pulled out of her.

It did affect me though. I ain't gonna like. ____ was ____ing horrifying to watch.

He may have had the helmet on. I really didn't think about that. I mean, I dunno. Too wrapped up.

I guess I would've liked to see the thing with it's helmet on during that scene. But it's whatever. Maybe it can breath in that atmosphere. Or maybe not. I mean, ____...it's still an Alien. DNA relation or not.

Yeah. I almost did chuckle at the staples.

I liked how she just ripped the umbilical cord right out. ____ this ____.

I also felt really bad for her too. When Holloway said "Anyone with half a brain could create life..."

Her reply was so sad. "I can't create life...."

I'm not sure I liked that aspect of her. It felt tacky and stuck in their only for that brief moment of friction between her and Holloway. I just loved how brutally honest David was after realising she was pregnant.

The Protoxeno had an umbilical cord too right? Would that help to explain why it had grown more advanced then a standard chestburster. I also though that the P/X was bigger simply because the squid (facehugger) was bigger; hence a bigger embryo.

Eh, maybe. But it helped set up the birth scene.

I've watched the Xeno birth scene a few times...and it creeps me out. I love it.

I love the way the Space Jockey is just drooling in absolute agony, just writhing and exploding. It's so incredibly violent.


Actually, all the gore in this movie was great. It wasn't over the top, it was done in a very controlled way.

Well, it had more human like qualities too it. You know how the Alien takes attributes from it's host right? That's what I'm thinking happened. The goo takes it's host, and just ____s with it. But the DNA remains the same...in a sense.

So the Alien has human qualities , as well as Space Jockey qualities.

It all started with a drink.

Which I find interesting. It's an odd life cycle...but it's a precursor for what's to come. A less refined version of that.

And notice how only the humans can accept, and evolve with the goo, where the Jockey's can not.

Really brings the whole "We are the bio-weapon carriers."

But the other question is, bio weapons for who? I'm excited to find out.

Have you seen the art book images of the the P/X from afew pages back?

I also think that the xeno in the mural painting looks like a fully grown P/X. The dome looks like it has the sharp and pointy trait as seen when it punches itself out of the Engineer.

Did the SJ ship from Alien crash before or after the Prometheus SJ ship? I suppose it's a question of whether it crashed because of the events of the incident the SJ's encountered or if it results from the events of the end of Prometheus?

I mean, imagine if this movie ended with the Space Jockey sitting in the ship, and the Alien bursting out.

Well, then we'd have no questions, and it'd be the so predictable.

Now, the movie went in such a huge left turn that it gave us something interesting, rather then a full circle type deal.

Man...after looking at this thing for a minute, it looks like it's a manual of some kind. Like a guide to what this weapon does.

It creates the protohugger, which then creates the protoalien.

It shows the steps. Kinda like this....

But then it evolves into what we know.
