He actually looks quite cute with his big eyes and little smile but then the full smile is just "Your so dead!" :lol

Wow, reading this thread some people are really passionate about their films.

Well I'm gonna give watching it another go, when it's on.
A friend of mine sent me a message and explained a few things I queried so I'm gonna give it another go with that new information as and when I can. I still stand by the fact I didn't like this film but I'm willing to see if I still feel that way after a second viewing.
I hope the character development is better second time round, it just didn't seem to fit well with me the first time and only time Ive seen it but until I see it again I will try keep an open mind.

WTF happened in this thread, I just watched the movie over the weekend (while having an Alien marathon, beginning with Prometheus), and I find it more enjoyable with each watching. I don't even want to discuss the reasons why I enjoy it anymore . . . hahaha

As I feel I will be ridiculed beyond belief. :dunno:thud:

Its a great movie, and my second favorite of the year. Don't let anyone chase you away. What did you like about it?

Well visually, I think myself and many others feel that its a very captivating experience. Whether practical or digital VFX, I enjoyed it all. From the vast landscapes of LV-223 and what is presumably Earth (at the beginning) from the interior of the Prometheus. I was also very pleased with the design and final concept of the Engineer, not only physically intimidating but intellectually as well. Which we learned as we dove further into the story. I will admit though I would have liked to see some more destruction caused by the awakened Engineer at the end.

I think in regards to the characters Michael Fassbender's portrayal of David was spot on, I really think he made the final version of the script work well in his favor. Regardless of its flaws through the revisions. I especially liked the relationship or lack there of between David and Holloway. I especially enjoyed the scene where David places the black liquid in Holloway's glass. I felt it was inevitable that something was coming to Holloway considering his attitude towards David. The comic relief provided by Janek, Fifield, and Milburn were enough for me as the story progressed, and was well balanced throughout the film. I guess the only character that bugs me is Vickers solely because I am still not convinced she was human. Although I felt it still wasn't confirmed with any concrete examples.

Now the story itself was nothing I had expected upon my first viewing as I refused to read anything about it. I enjoyed it for what it offered, minus the plot holes that have been listed many times before by fellow members. I found some scenes rushed as the action really started to pick-up after the films' climax. Which could sometimes be typical in any film. As I had mentioned before in this thread I would have liked to see our little baby Deacon explore its territory some more. Which I recently found out in the concept art from the Art Of Prometheus there are some drawings of the Deacon exploring the terrain. I am really looking forward to a sequel, hopefully one that begins where this left off, and possibly a visit to the Engineer's home planet.

Overall it was a great movie and I'm looking forward to the sequel sometime soon . . .

Yes I liked the awkward tension between Shaw, David, and Holloway right after David proves to be the superior "alpha male" by rescuing Shaw (and Holloway) after Holloway failed to do so. When he acknowledges Shaw's gratitude he seems both polite and ever so condescendingly smug. A really fantastic performance by Fassbender.

"Thank you, David." yeah great scene haha. I found it a little comical on how inanimate David was when he jumped out with the harness and the gusts of wind just took his body like nothing at first. :rotfl

For some reason I always giggle when that scene comes up. And the following as well, I think it's because David's eagerly enthusiastic expression

Lame of them to dismiss what they do not understand. Yes that is LAAAAAAAAME

Anyone who says "random" at something they don't understand without applying critical thinking is a lazy armchair critic.

Also I don't know wtf you're talking about. No one ever said Roy Batty was an Engie. He's just wearing a Weyland suit. And that's official artwork from the Prometheus book btw. You have lost your ever loving brain.

Pssst...... sets and artwork are often reused on different films. This is pretty well-documented, as we can even see here!

No one ever said that you said Batty was an Engineer. It's called "sarcasm" and I use it a lot. However I would not at all be suprised to see you claiming that he was: this is how nutty much of what you are saying appears to the average reader.

I am glad you like this film, it needs all of its ten fans - who are mostly represented in this thread :rotfl But you know, c'mon now. Saying that Blade Runner is Alien-universe canon is just ridiculous, and even you know that. Admit it.

[which you won't, but just sayin'.]

Anyway. Since we are back on track. I really wish Ridley allowed the film to be the length it should've. That's probably the biggest mistake. I get what he was doing. It makes sense. But at the same time, it hurt the film. So it didn't feel like it was worth it.

One or two elite trolls followed by their exacerbating minions.
Oh come on! Ive been following the thread since forever. And theres 3 or more people who constantly mob people who post their dislikes about the movie. The only thing that happened last night was there was more than 1 person so the bullies couldnt pull their usual " you dont get the movie troll " bullcrap.

I was so tempted to comment last night when the people who are usually the bullies were kicking up a fuss over the haters playing the victim because their Prometheus love fest was broke up. It was so hypocritical.

If you don't like the movie, that's fine. But if you want to come in here going "it's crap :lol" then you can **** right off.

No.

They can state whatever opinion they'd like to and if it differs from yours you can (and this is a wild idea) ignore them completely.

Then i'll tell them too. Hate the movie all you want. But a quick little

"this movie sucks :lol"

and then running out doesn't add a single thing. And that is what people consider trolling. Not giving your thoughts in a rational manner, as negative as they might be.

You've got to be joking. :lol I guess you're talking about me mostly, right? I go from being trolled by just about everyone in this thread, to being labeled a "bully".

You've even started bashing the movie in other threads, so for the life of me I can't figure out why you still bother to visit this one.

No.

Then we'd have to ignore 95% of the board. And most of them aren't "stating their opinions". They come in to bash the movie and provoke the fans. Simple as that.

By all means-- but be civil and thus avoiding feeding trolling. Ignoring is often much more powerful.

In real life. But the internet is a different monster.

But at the end of the day, none of this matters in real life. It's just a silly movie. And it's just some dude's opinion.
