The dome is definitely too small. Damnit. :(

Otherwise, a complete home run.

Okay, Hurricane, seriously... get started on a run of replacement domes for the Sideshow Vader figure. You already have several sales right here in this thread! :lecture

Great images yet again. I have always hope for a 1:6 Emperor with transparent plastic (for the lighting bolts) attached at the fingers tip.

"young fool. only now, at the end, do you realize..." :emperor

awesome shots, maulfan! that was always one of my favourite moments in the whole star wars saga. very well-recreated here... :joy

I eagerly await mine too. Just mad that this figure has been anticipated from the beginning of the line and it fell just short of perfection.

Well, i think its intentional that they do this so, we fork out more money down the road for a better version when Hot Toys makes them or whatever lol..seems that way as even more accurate sculpts were turned down in the SS line for ones with less of a likeness to character.

wonderful WONDERFUL shots MaulFan!! :rock

I can't wait to get this. The quality looks amazing. And yes, the dome does look a tiny bit too short at the back... but what's also making that look worse than it is, is the fact that his shoulders are too flat at the top. They should go up at the back, where it goes from his shoulders/back, into his neck.

The back should be higher than the front. This would raise his shoulders/neck closer up to the dome and help with the appearance. A little padding might work there.

Great figure!

Yawn and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

It is a great figure but I think my Vader PF is better. I won't comment anymore.

As do I, but then again I prefer the scale and the format. We don't however need a refresher on just how many pages of debate littered the forum regarding the asymetry and tusk and even the dome size on the PF :horror:horror. I DO wish that SS would have went with a more film accurate design for Vader, at the time I assumed that it was a more idealized Vader (i.e. there would only be one Vader produced) but SS has since confirmed the possibility of another Vader down the line.

Maulfan,

First, I am stoked that you won the contest. Can you fellow freaks imagine if someone won who had no love for sharing AND didn't own a digital camera!?! Not only does Maulfan own the camera, he knows how to use it in a big way! Thanks for all the pics.

This figure is impressive, most impressive. But his helmet needs a tweak. Thanks to Maulfan's Vader taking a header off the desk, we've seen what can be done if desired. A custom, larger dome would be the ticket. Hurricane's Vader is what ANH Darth Vader should be (in my humble opinion). His helmet was HUGE in ANH! Hurricane (or anyone else), your services are required. Otherwise, Maulfan, would you be so kind to indulge a few of us and place the hasbro dome on your SSC Vader?

Thanks for the great pics and congrats on your win.
