So Sideshow advertisement about Darth Vader says his PROTOTYPE will be at COMICCON ...l was hoping this was a finished Darth Vader and hoping to have by the end of this year ...l'm thinking wont see him until some time next year to be on our shelves ...GReatful were getting but thinking it's gonna be a while ....:impatient:

It's always (just about) a prototype... that means it's an approved figure and what will be sent off to production. Once in blue moon we'll first see a production sample first (like the battle droids), but even then we still might not see the figure for another 6 or 7 months.

So don't despair, this release is fairly typical for what we'd see at SDCC or a normal pre-order.

or in Grievous' case, almost a year and still no PO :monkey2

I always thought that prototypes were, or at least could be, pending approval.

Yeah, but usually they are pretty far along in that process when we see them. I can't think of too many 1/6 figures with major changes that have been pre-ordered at SDCC or through a normal ordering.

Grievous was one that was rushed to be at the show and according to Sideshow even the final articulation had not been worked out.
