I will probally display Vader getting his butt kicked by SS Darth Maul. :D

Is the cape off in this pic? Or tucked neatly back?

attachment.php

Tucked. You can still see it flaring out below his right hand.

That ain't the cape, dude. He wears that beneath it.

Pix is right, you're wrong, that is his folded cape tucked between his arms behind his back, I was going for something like the Empire shots where he'd have his arms behind him watching out from the bridge of the Super Star Destroyer.

I'll be curious to see how the dome really looks in person as I thought I read a post from Sean that even he think his shots have made it look more off than it might be.

Here's a shot I took at SDCC.

That dome looks MUCH better than what we've seen from the production pics so far.

Looking at the figure from the same angle, the difference i see is that the back of the flare is further down and so from front to back, it angles more, on the production it's like a line right accross the horizontal axis.

I'm not sure who's photo it was, maybe one of yours Josh, from SDCC that showed Vader's profile, I believe there was more slant to the flare as there should be, I remember because I was blown away at how right it looked from that view where lots of companies don't get that aspect.

Suck on that Irish. :lol :lol :lol

Red lines are basically the difference in the dome that I can see, basically like I said, where at SDCC the fronts of the flares sloped downward as the came together in the back, the production dome pretty much just takes a perfect horizontal path from one to the other.

I don't think the production helm looks terrible, but definitely a significant change in the shape that isn't because of production shrinking or anything of that sort.

I guess I need to get it in hand and compare. I just have hard time sometimes seeing things like that in pictures.

The funny thing is I don't really care about inaccuracies. Its the best Vader figure I've seen mass produced and can't wait to have it on my shelves. Less knitpicking and more photoshop works of art.

Hello everyone, just wanted to apologize to anyone that may of been offended from the pics that I posted in this thread, it was not my intention to offend anyone and it was all in good fun. As you were with the Vader official pics thread, I am also still very excited about the 1/6 piece and I'm the 18 day status for receiving Darth and it's perfect in every shape or form to me so the last thing I wanted to do is offend any of the Freaks that share the same enthusiasm as I do.

Honestly it was all for good laughs...

This will be the creme de la creme of 1:6th Vaders no doubt, there will be nothing else out there to pit it against for a long while i'd say.

Geez, what prompted such a significant change?
Its not like fans were screaming for it to be shorter,on the the contrary I recall almost uniform approval of the figures look.
Usually a company makes an aesthetic change after everyone b!t@he$ and moanes.
Odd.
I can only hope they still have the proto helmet and use it in another incarnation.

....still getting this one though.:joy

Yep Sideshow still has an ESB, ROTJ and ROTS to make. I could see them taking notes and changing things around for future releases.

But honestly, figure looks awesome... and its only in a few shots that the helmet looks off to me. Overall I'm very pleased with what Sideshow has been able to do and hoping this and some of the recent figures are a sign of good things to come.

I kind of mean't to say from any other company up until now and beyond..can't really feel the need to compare SS's various Vaders as they will be on par or better then one another i'd say.

They have the scale right, the price is right, the look is acceptable for Vader and to see big improvements on getting the canon look of Vader for the next three versions will pretty much crown them with the best representation of Darth Vader in 1:6th scale.

My own ultimate dream is to display Darth Vader with the 6 bounty hunters from TESB.

Sideshow better get busy.
