This has probaly been answered... But i just got this big boy and cant figure out how to change the hands?? There seems to be a plug on both the hands and the arm joint?? Im confused, i dont have any other sideshow toys so im a little outta the loop!

Bend the hand in the elbow, take it hard and pull out the hand directly from it. And there will be no problems, mate ;)

abake, jkno, glad you liked it! XD I tried to reflect characters of bout personages in there ))) And it's true, Jack is tooo kind! XD

Here is a picture of my Vader, together with Praji and 1 stormie:

Deak, your comment makes me laugh but feel wrong at the same time. I'm glad you take it lightly and not personal (shows you have character), but whenever you ask me to, I'll stop using it for comparison. ;)

just got my vader the other day and its great, cant wait for sideshow to make ROTJ version with the reveal helmet

man this guy really is huge, i was expecting him to be big, but not this big haha

Just a comment on the Helmet mod (if this was ESB Vader I'd be happy not to do it), I tried to leave it be and not do it, but over the couple of weeks I had this figure it bugged me more & more. Everytime I looked at this figure I had a nagging dislike with it (I didn't even like looking at the figure to tell the truth), until I did the mods, now I can't stop looking at it, LOL... again it's purely the ANH vrs ESB for me, if it was sold to me as the ESB I probably wouldn't have faulted it.

I too am starting to feel like you did, the helmet is bugging me as well.

I wish I had the skill and confidence to alter the helmet to make him look better but I am too scared of destroying it. I already broke my Clone Obi's belt just from posing him..lol (Such a newb I know).

Vader was my 1st major mod (i've painted before but the dremel ouch!) to tell the truth I started just to adjust the flare using boiling water & a little pressure, when I heard the glue crack from the heat and suddenly go soft, so I decided what the heck and got stuck into the full mod. Haven't looked back Vader is still my fav SSC figure

Glenn is currently just finishing this darth Vader for a forum member,it is a replica of the screen used prop pieces including all the wear and tear, scratches, and general feel of the original used costume, hope you like, I do,:wacky

I've had the Sideshow Vader from the beginning but I've mostly stayed out of these threads because I was pretty disappointed in him. It'll come as no surprise to most of you that my dissatisfaction was with his helmet (mostly the dome) and his height. Tonight I threw caution to the wind and decided to try and finally fix the dome. It popped off with hardly any pressure at all, which kind of disturbed me, considering that it's supposed to be glued on. I was about to alter the Sideshow dome when I remembered that I had the dome from a Hasbro talking Vader just lying on my workbench. I'm sure I'm far from the first person to try this, but I decided to see how it would look on the Sideshow Vader, and sure enough it looked really nice.

I dremelled down the inside of the Hasbro dome and then used some epoxy putty to attach it to the head (this allowed me to easily position the dome where I wanted it). I'm now much more happy with this figure. I think I will try and pose him with his legs slightly bent and splayed apart to minimize his height, but the dome was my biggest complaint.

icruise -

I really like your Vader with the Hasbro dome mod. Wow , I am so envious now.
I bet you were happy to come across that spare piece..hehe

I'd like one of those domes to try now but I'd have to buy a whole figure just for the dome..lol..

very nice mod, icruise. I really don't see the difference in people lowering the brow part, but your bigger dome mod really looks good to me
