Re: Offical Sideshow Crimson Guards!

I got mine earlier today, one awesome figure!
The material on the jacket feels great, it may not fold to scale but I still love the look, a nice matte red color. I like the helmet's shape more in hand then I did in pics, it's still lacking paint.
The Vector turned out great. It's so perfectly in scale that I could fit one of the Vector's extended Glock mags into a Dragon .45 Glock! The stock works well, you can't extend the rear of the stock like on the real thing, but the stock locks into place better then the Masada's stock that came with the Viper.

There are things I don't like, I don't really like is the Desert Eagle and holster, I wish they gave us a revolver instead. I also wish they gave us more mags and some pouches for his FN FAL as well as a sheath for his bayonet and a gun grip left hand.

Also some have claimed that the excl. head doesn't have painted hair, I personally see a difference in color between the skin and hair as well as a light dark wash adding shade to his hair, it's painted perfectly imo.

Overall, this is a near perfect release that I don't feel I need to modify as much as I felt with the Viper.
Now I need to save up for another Siegie!

Agree on all counts. Does the FAL look a little on the small side to you? I thought it did; same with the Vipers' OG assault rifle. Granted, it's an imaginary weapon, but still, it looked a little small.

I hope the EX comes back in stock, I'd like to pick up another.

Re: Offical Sideshow Crimson Guards!

I think all the vintage weapons have been on the small size.

Yeah, you're right. Although with Stalker's SMG, it wasn't that noticeable to me. Flint's saw-offed shotty looked a little small as well.

It is. I checked the scale and it's about 1 inch too short. But I didn't pick up on it until you mentioned it and I looked it up.
Also it's specifically the L1A1 model.

Re: Offical Sideshow Crimson Guards!

UPS man just dropped mine off. Looks great. I too also like the leather with the matte finish. Really gives this guy a deserved "regal" look. And man he really does look massive. Not to be f-ed with...

Re: Offical Sideshow Crimson Guards!

Off topic, but Fred makes a nice Viper head too.

Re: Offical Sideshow Crimson Guards!

Got mine last night and first impressions were "meh". After getting him put together, I like him a little better. The sidearm doesn't bother me so much once you get it into the holster (which was a hella pain on mine). The helmet looks a little wonky but not terrible.

I like the jacket more than I expected. I looks pretty darn good and even feels cool. I am still terrified though that in a few years it will be peeling or falling apart. I am even scared to pose him with arms bent because of that.

I guess time will tell.

Re: Offical Sideshow Crimson Guards!

I think it should be fine. Seems like the same material the T2 and Kurgan jacket and pants were made from and they have lasted just fine. Also some of the LotR figures, and they are fine too. Even Derek Smalls pants, and those are about 10 years old now.

Re: Offical Sideshow Crimson Guards!

TA broke him down!

The Vector was long gone by the time I got there. It would be interesting to hear how much they were asking.
I picked up a full uniform, Right gun grip hand, boot tops, and flat feet.
So I have most of what I need between the full set I got today and the part out to make a second Siegee.
:D
I just need a back pack and side holster to complete him.

Re: Offical Sideshow Crimson Guards!

The helmet reminds me of the sentries from The Black Hole

Re: Offical Sideshow Crimson Guards!

After shipping $27 for the boots. Nah, don't want an extra pair that bad :lol

There's just nothing there I want to pick up.

Yea and it's still $100 to gather parts for a second one, without the vector, backpack, body, neck . ..

Some on Amazon. I have a $50 giftcard, would be about $90 shipped after using it. Hmmmm

Thats a deal! I would do it.

I was gonna part out a second, but its damn close to actually paying for a second complete figure. For the extra $20 or so, I would rather just buy a second complete.

If you're not buying a head, body, neck, stand, Vector, L1A1, grenades, mine, pistol mags, Vector mags, bent toe boots, and 5 of the hands, it is a bit cheaper then buying the whole figure.

From TA it'll cost $80 for everything else, add an extra $17 for a Viper body and it's still cheaper.
