I'm using Colloquy. Works great.

Less lag on the Java Virtual machine (JVM).

JVM can run processing up pretty high, especially if FF is loaded along with it. They all attacked the JVM for resources on your machine.

Mirc being stand alone work great for performance, I believe it's on the .NET platform, I haven't used it in years.

Some security XDCC transfers/request got a lil crazy back in the day... prolly more solid nowadays.

That was one recommendation I left after last years spook. So much in the day when people who have to work can't participate, and not very much later on. Oh well, can't complain too much, I'm just glad I have a job to go to, even if it means no spook.

yeah, it comes to a crawl at times. it's why I don't even bother any more past 10. I remember when their slogan was 'sleep is for the weak" and yet they were the ones who went to bed lol.
