Yes. Yes it was. The effects were outstanding. The gore was beautiful, the acting was good...only issue I had was some slightly dry script writing at the beginning with the light switch thing. I didnt find it really funny, nor moving, nor interesting. Could've been shorter. But that's my ONLY issue. 9/10

Couldn't watch the walking dead last night, got back late from trick or treating with the kids. Looking forward to watching it tonight! Anxiously checking the contests page hoping to see my name somewhere...

So what did you guys think of the event overall ?

I personally was not impressed with the product reveals.

Star Wars Friday was nothing to remember.

And overall the searches were for nothing impressive and discounts on items that were not really desired. And you worked for it at times pretty hard to find nothing.

Just my opinion.

I know exactly why there aren't as many posts in here as we thought...

Last year a lot of us won multiple items and had chicky give us more in here, etc. So we were all coming saying 'I got one' " I got one too" etc. I had a lot of wins last year, but not this year. That took a crap load of posts less for me. :D

Sooooo who here thought spook was just as good or better than in years before. And NOT for prizes, but the actual 'feel' of spook.

I wasn't impressed with it this year either...blah products, hardly any discounts, free shipping? :dunno

the stuff they did have on sale was nothing I wanted when it was normal price to begin with

and no jason or cyclops eventhough sideshow said cyclops would be up for order in october:slap

Well, they also said Legolas would be up shortly after SDCC, and I'm still waiting. But at least we were offered a sick a$$ Gollum.

Greetings all-

First time Spooker, long-ish time Sideshow customer.

Anyone know how/when they'll post the list of winners of all the random drawing contests and the Scavenger Hunt contest?

The Walking Dead was... amazing. I was cool with the length of it, and once it gained momentum, baby did it gain momentum. Can't wait to watch the rest of the season. Total immersion. :rock

They'll post them on the contest page with the individual prizes. They will also send an email to all winners.

I thought the "feel" of spook was not as good as previous. Not sure why, but it just wasn't as fun. Maybe that was just me, but the contests just stressed me out rather than being fun. A couple of the new products were cool but not that great. The discounts were down right disappointing. Contest prizes were very impressive! Wish I could have won one (or two)!!!
I still have to give it Sideshow for continuing to do these events though. I don't want to be a whiner.

I will say one thing for them, there is no other company that I know of that gives away prizes, big or small, to customers. Not this many prizes.

That's the thing, though. For me, the focus on giveaways and discounts on products no one wants is what is diluting Spook. It used to be about celebrating Sideshow's horror-related stuff with cool new products. Now it's just marketing gimmickry, culminating in a regrettable focus on Facebook.

Agreed !

Or a return to the Universal line and in PF form !!!! Where is it ?

Or DEAD. Where are the dead ? They could do at least one a year ! ONE ! :slap

I agree it was not fun. The contests stressed you out for nothing. A catalog ?

They new products were really 'meh and nothing really exciting. The discounts were disappointing.

Contest prizes were great as always. I agree. It seems the winners were the chat guys. They really did well. Happy for them. But for the rest of us that can't be in chat all that often it was harder. Take that aspect away though and I think more people would be feeling let down.

I have been saying it from the beginning. I miss the videos. Even the Criswell videos. They were a lot of fun and added so much to the event. That was a real let down.

I don't disagree. They are a wonderful company and i love their products, approach and what they do for our community.

Let's not lose sight that all big companies need tax write-off's. It normal. And a good approach to it.

I really miss the 12" Dead line!!!! Can't believe they didn't have one this year. I really like the interactive dead thing they did one year.
