The young Jedi General made his way up here today...just a quick shot...

As a lot of folks have mentioned, this is really a great head sculpt and pain apps. I mean, damn! I wish the ROTS version's paint apps had been this good.

It is a pretty impressive combination of the animated series look with a "real" look. The outfit is simple and well-executed. I really like the hands being seperate from the gauntlets...allowing for interchangable hands and more posing opportunities.

I'll get some more shots in over the weekend, but my first impressions are...great figure!

You're welcome!

A couple more shots...

This figure puts an interesting spin on the ongoing discussions regarding "likeness" and accuracy in the portrait sculpts. It is neither a "true" representation of the character as he appears in the Clone Wars animated series nor is it a perfect representation of Hayden Christensen as Anakin.

Instead, it's a remarkable combination of aspects of both with an emphasis on capturing the character of Anakin Skywalker...and it does this quite superbly. Hats off to the Sideshow team for finding that balance in this presentation of the "Hero Without Fear"....well done, indeed!

This piece is a great example for the point of view that capturing the character can be as important to a figure's "success" as being totally accurate to the performer playing the part.

This is one well-rendered figure in my book....

They went a little TOO far to the the animation angle for me. And that is not to say that it is not a great figure. It seems to be. But that is simply not my preference.

One of the things that bothered me with this is that the head wasn't painted. It looks different than my other Sideshow figures because of it, and more like a Mattel doll. I haven't bought some of the last several releases, so I don't know if any of the others were made this way, but I really hope this is not the way that they are heading.

Great shots JB. I was just looking at mine again today (yes I still need to take pics) and thinking just how nice this came out. Really is a superb figure. I hope we get more figures from the CW series especially Jedi wearing armor.

I'd be up for a CW Plo Koon, he's got a significantly different costume for the series and I like it.

Yeah, he looks cool and I also like Mace Windu wearing the armor he does. Well, the armor he wears in the Clone Wars video game I have on the 360.

if i was not already getting this guy this month, this pic ALONE would have sold me on him.

Thanks for the kind words,men!
And Josh...where's that doily pic! :)

I decided to have a little fun with my extra Anakin parts from ToyAnxiety. I have to adapt the gauntlet glove to fit the slimmer body, but you get the idea. Now to paint up the armor in the 501st colors.

Reminds me a LOT of the Trooper Luke from ANH. I really must get the CW Annie.
