Also, anyone else who has this notice the hole in the bottom of Rotta? I wonder if that was left from the rotocasting or if that's for a plug in the bottom of a backpack so he sits tight.

I would figure probably rotocast, is there a lip around it, usually that sort of thing has excess plastic there too, I would think an intended hole would be clean. I can't imagine needing a plug for the pack, if done right most of his body should sit in it.

No. Rotta is flat on the bottom and the hole is distinct, clean and no lip which has me wondering if at some point it will serve a purpose.

Consider that confirmed. ANH Vader is also on the back.

Sweet! I wonder if we'll get a preview on the Newsletter tomorrow considering the cat is out of the bag now?

For me, cartoons do not = canon. Besides, wasn't Snowbunny Padme first seen in cartoons anyway?

Same collecting interest here. In time when the live action TV series is out, I wonder will fans that have been considering only the PT and OT as canon include that?:D

For this whole canon and non-canon debate, I haven't seen season 1 (I've heard mixed reactions), but I'm liking season 2 more than any of the prequel movies. Anakin doesn't whine and actually has some good development.

Getting back to the fig, I can't wait to see more pics.

Damn you and your observations without pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:naughty:monkey1

Yeah, these "Official" picture threads seems kind of lame to me. There seems to be 2 or 3 threads about the same figure and for being "official", and 7 pages in, 1 set of pics! I know it will blow up once more get in hand, but why there always ends up being the discussion thread, ordering thread, picture thread, etc...is beyond me. JMHO. Anyway, maybe more pics will find their way in here today.

Can't decide about this one..............., I have Obi in armour tho

he looks like he is about to kill rotta ha ha

Can you blame him? That's by far one of the worst "characters" to come out of SW in some time. If it weren't for the ridiculous Ziro The Hutt from the same movie, this turdlet would be what everyone would point to as yet another post-OT nadir.

the head is sorta hasbro-ish.

I'm gonna wait for more pics, or at least until I see it in hand tomorrow before making that call. The pictures seem to wash out (no offense to the poster) a lot of the detail and even Clonobi looks pretty flat... which in person he's a very good looking figure and sculpt.

I'll be sure to post pics tomorrow after I get off work :duff

Oh come on. Rotta's adorable! How can he be one of the worst characters in SW when he has no lines or personality? He's just a baby.

You want a worse character than Ziro or Rotta put together? How about Zorba the Hutt, Jabba's father with braided hair and beard? He's from 1992, so it's not like this kind of thing is a new development.

got to ask, what is so off about the "clone emperors" ( which were not exactly Clones anyways) ? The movies already had ghosts and clones, whats soo odd about combining the two?

It's just a stupid concept. The emperor has clones just in case something happens to him? Kinda makes his death in ROTJ useless. I don't even know if that's the story, but regardless it's lame.

He's a giant turd with bug eyes. Don't tell me you didn't LOL (for the wrong reasons) the first time you saw that thing squirting across the floor.

While that's true, crappy stuff from the EU novels is much easier to ignore... especially if it's never made into a collectible.

:lecture :lecture :lecture

"Let's just made Anakin's redemption and Luke's efforts in JEDI (which is supposed to be the climax of the entire saga) completely moot in order to sell some half-assed comic books!"

In a nutshell, this is a good example of why the majority of the EU should be ignored.

I really don't take any of the Clone Wars stuff as canon regardless of what Lucas says, so I can just sort of enjoy it for what it is without feeling like it affects the "real" Star Wars movies in any way.

No, it isn't. The thing that annoys me is this is a great sculpt and even better than the other Anakins we've gotten. The Hayden likeness is SPOT on to the point where if the hair were longer, I'd pick up another one to put on both the others.

My guess is that it was the paint job that he was referring to, more than the sculpt. It does look kind of toy like in some shots, but I imagine that the pictures accentuate the issue.
