Re: Sideshow/ Olivetti - Venom Comiquette

I've been wanting this guy for awhile to go with Carnage, but seeing the raising prices for him I just don't see it happening. The price has gone out of my range for sure.. shame:gah:

Check out Mr Ski's for sale thread. He is selling a REG Venom com for a very decent price. You may just get lucky. I just made an offer to the guy I bought it from and he accepted. Give it a shot. The Venom com is soooo worth it.

Re: Sideshow/ Olivetti - Venom Comiquette

NOICE!!! Incredible acquisition, brother! Big ol' honkin' congrats! :rock :hi5:

Thanks Bro. Yeah, it was a happy day when Venom showed up. This piece is just mind-blowing! I love our forum man. If the seller wanted to he could have charged an arm and a leg for the Venom com. It was a marvel sample. Like I said in my earlier post, a EX on the bay sold for $825 shipped. Instead of looking to gouge for max dollars, I dealt with a guy who was actually looking to hook up a fellow collector with a piece I really wanted to add to my collection. Big props again to Awesome, for hooking me up. There is no better feeling than adding that piece to your collection that you think you may not acquire.

Great post. You were extremely lucky to get hooked up with Awesome. He's obviously done you and your collection a solid. I was lucky enough to score the EX when it was released and can't imagine having to drop the scratch to pay the present market value for it. I'd most likely have to pass it up. Again, congrats, lucky brother. :)

Re: Sideshow/ Olivetti - Venom Comiquette

In a moment of stupid, I just recently considered selling my Venom EX. But, then I pulled him out of his display case again and the light hit me LOL! There is no way I am selling him, I know I would massively regret it later!

Venom is one of my absolute favorite statues I own, he is just sick! Congrats on your acquisition of one of the best Marvel pieces Sideshow has ever done!

:lol I had the same realization recently, my friend. I was giving it serious thought. :cuckoo:

Re: Sideshow/ Olivetti - Venom Comiquette

LOL, yeah I don't know what I was thinking. I did sell Spider-Man, though. He is really awesome, but I'm going back to focus more on the females, unless there's a really awesome male villain.

Like, I am keeping Venom, and I just purchased Sabretooth PF and the Lord of Darkness PF. But, as a rule, I'm going back to mostly females.

:horror All I read was blahblahblah I did sell Spidey blahblahblah! :lol
I don't think I would ever sell Spidey. I'd let almost anything go before getting rid of him.

Re: Sideshow/ Olivetti - Venom Comiquette

What's going on Barb'? Whatever happen to those Dr. Doom photos that you were working on?
I have had serious issues gathering up the motivation for those. Every time I break them out, I seem to automatically move on to something else. I have been trying, but honestly, I'm not the biggest fan of that piece. Sorry, brother, but it may be another stretch before I actually get to them... that is, if I ever actually get off my ass and do them.

LOL, I know, I didn't think I would sell him either, but I did. I will keep Venom as I like villains more.

My moto is:
1. Female villains
2. Female heroes
3. Male villains
4. Male heroes

So, unfortunately Spidey fell into my bottom category LOL!

I dig, brother. Diff'rent strokes and all that. :)

Do I even have to say that's exactly how I feel as well?:lol I would be hard pressed to sell my Spidey to. It's the ONLY stand alone Spidey statue I own. I passed on every other Spidey statue ever produced. Once I saw the comiquette, I knew that was the only Spidey piece I would need in my collection.

However, I will say this: If you had to sell Spidey, I'm sure another Spidey statue will eventually be made. He is a very popular character and will therefore have a few revisits. Venom on the other hand, will most likely not be revisited any time soon, if at all. Even if SSC did revisit Venom, does anyone really think it would even look as good as the AO Venom? There is no chance it will look better. I can't see that happening. If you had to give up one, I think Spidey would be the easiest to replace over time.

Now after saying all that: THERE IS NO WAY I'M SELLING EITHER OF THEM!:lecture

Re: Sideshow/ Olivetti - Venom Comiquette

I'm sure some of you are aware that this statue has been a grail of mine for quite some time. I'm happy to say, that the hunt is over. I've purchased a Venom from a boardie here and now I just need to wait for him to arrive. :yess:

You are going to love it! He is going out tomorrow so you should get him later this week.

Its all good if you don't get to them. I was just thinking that you wanted to do them, but I also wanted to see what you would have done with them. Understand what you mean about having the right inspiration. That's a much need MOJO when working in photoshop. Well here's in hope that you might bust them out one day.
