Re: <> IRONMAN MKVII - OMG Photo Review - P1~2 <>

Glad I was able to order the BD version, as the BD parts on this are pretty underwhelming.
Overall great figure, that will never, ever be displayed with that HS. Seriously, who in their right minds see RDJ there? That's someone else.
Thanks OMG!

Same BD parts.... just more weathering on other parts

Re: <> IRONMAN MKVII - OMG Photo Review - P1~2 <>

Wax? Do explain, please.

I do this myself with all of my Mark suits, and actually any collectible with a glossy painted or non painted finish. It cleans the paint oxidation, and or factory grime off, and protects the finish, and makes them shine.
I use this spray wax from honda for motorcycles. It is safe for all non porus surfaces, and plastics. I dont have it with me now, but I think its called pro honda spray cleaner and wax. I also use stuff called FW1 which is pretty much the same.

Re: <> IRONMAN MKVII - OMG Photo Review - P1~2 <>

So there's a chance his red undies going to fade and turn pink?

Re: <> IRONMAN MKVII - OMG Photo Review - P1~2 <>

I canceled my order a few months ago.....there's too many other figures I already purchased. The headscupt looks nothing like RDJ :slap

Re: <> IRONMAN MKVII - OMG Photo Review - P1~2 <>

I actually like the Tony Stark headsculpt and if I'm lucky enough to get one of these I might display it with that headsculpt at least until the IM3 Tony releases.

So basically just car wax. Thanks for the info!

I use this

Only on the underwear and neck part, it will slow but not stop the fading. :panic::panic::panic: will MKVII fade? I dont know, need to wait and see.

.Didn't know that helps. Do you take off the underwear completely and than do a light coat on it?

so there is no risk to the paint work or articulation? Do you take apart your Ironmen and then apply this? is it a light coating? I thought was was a fine abrasive, which would mean there is a slight risk to the paint work if you apply it too much/often?

Re: <> IRONMAN MKVII - OMG Photo Review - P1~2 <>

Glad I'm getting the BD :wink1:

The transition from the BD to non on this is not gradual enough. The MK VI had superior gradation from BD to non. HT is cutting corners on their paint apps in my opinion.

That said still getting this, due to my completionist nature :rotfl

Re: <> IRONMAN MKVII - OMG Photo Review - P1~2 <>

Thank you for the great pics as always OMG, boy did you take plenty of pics!

"eyes could have been smaller" "needs to be little more bulky" I agree with all that, but I think I can live with those issues.
RDJ sculpt on the other hand, he has looked asian in the past, now he looks hispanic! sadly HT just can't seem to nail RDJ face...
I rather prefer proto sculpt of him. Hopfully he looks better in hands.
Overall very happy with the outcome, good to see repulsor hands on photos, very cool of HT to include those.

Re: <> IRONMAN MKVII - OMG Photo Review - P1~2 <>

The suit looks great, despite being a tad skinny and while the RDJ head isn't 100% RDJ it makes for a great looking "Tony Stark" head. Finally, we can have an HT ironman with the proper repulsor blast pose! However, I'm not digging that HT took a step back by still using the soft PVC material for the crotch. If the Mark V used a harder PVC, why go back to the softer material more prone to fading?

Must be down to paint. MKIV/VI had that silver undercoat, MKV didn't.

Re: <> IRONMAN MKVII - OMG Photo Review - P1~2 <>

Is it just me or did they dial back the battle damage paint ops on this figure? Maybe to create a greater contrast with the Battle damaged Mark VII? I really enjoyed the Battle damage on the Mark VI, but there is no way I would display this one with the optional damaged pieces.

That's an interesting tidbit, and I wonder kind of solution HT came up with if any... to fix the fading problem.

Re: <> IRONMAN MKVII - OMG Photo Review - P1~2 <>

MKV didnt have the silver under paint? really? It looks like it has :panic::panic::panic:
