Re: <> Dark Knight Rises - Selina Kyle - OMG Photo Review - Part 1 / Part 2 @ 13 <>

Of course, I must admit it is easier said than done for some. I used to be pretty thin skinned online, but through experience and age, I've learned to become cold when I need to be, and major life events put what is important and what isn't into perspective. Put that together and you end up with the ability to let all the forum bs slide.

Re: <> Dark Knight Rises - Selina Kyle - OMG Photo Review - Part 1 / Part 2 @ 13 <>

Wait. What.:cuckoo:

That's silly and here is why, you like whatever you want to like regardless of anybody else's opinion. You can't let teh "TDKR SUX (!)" mob influence you in any way because those people are wrong. I dunno what these guys were expecting from TDKR, sad they didn't get enjoyment from it. I feel bad for them because well, i loved the movie.:dunno

It hit all the right notes for me and that is all that matters. I could care less what critics or anybody else thinks. Maybe you should do the same.

I hope this helps with 'that pat of the reason' you don't spend as much time on here. You are missed.:peace

Great pics OMG! She goes with the Batpod like PB@J

You can't let forums get to you. Train yourself to have complete apathy toward other people's online words.

:exactly: Truer words have never been spoken. Too many acting out hiding behind the anonymousity and then treat this as their battle ground whether it is a game of troll and diss or even a self-righteous crusade to proof everyone else wrong :slap
But Common Mags you are an old Freak no way you still let anyone here get to you, I am so dissapointed :cuckoo:
:stick :1-1:
I just wish ppl get a daily cap on post and that would cut down on the clutter and make this more efficient and easier to read and follow. Also I wish there was a rep system so I can just rep the good guys and neg rep the ones with poor etiquette further limiting their ability to post

Guys, while I appreciate the sentiments, you misunderstand my motivation... well partly anyway.

I have gotten better at taking what people say on the Internet with a grain of salt, and if folks dislike something I like, it generally doesn't bother.

This is a little different.

Nolan's Batman and the associated collectibles have been 80% of what I discuss here. When I saw TDKR, it was like this glorious and emotional ending to one of the greatest Trilogies of my time. After seeing it, I couldn't wait to come here and celebrate with the ones I've been sharing the experience with for so long. Instead, I was just met with so much negativity (with a few notable exceptions). I didn't expect that, and it was just so in-your-face and pervasive. To this day, I don't understand why people want to leave the series with such a sour taste. It so easily can be seen as a brilliantly well-rounded conclusion. But with so many fellow Freaks repeating all the things they believe is wrong with it over and over, it's very much like someone pissing in your Cheerios morning after morning. That **** gets old, especially when its coming from the very people you would have liked to share the experience with.

I wish the excitement surrounding the Trilogy could have been kept up and shared for a while rather than this decisive wedge being stuck into the community.

Thankfully my wife and I, and many of my IRL friends and family, love TDKR. And I don't need to go on the Internet to talk to them.

I'm sorry to make you feel unwelcome in your own thread Maglor :monkey2

Sarcasm? :(

Re: <> Dark Knight Rises - Selina Kyle - OMG Photo Review - Part 1 / Part 2 @ 13 <>

Atleast we'll always have Begins, The Dark Knight and the first two Burton films, Maggie. :1-1:

Re: <> Dark Knight Rises - Selina Kyle - OMG Photo Review - Part 1 / Part 2 @ 13 <>

TDKR has a imdb of 8.6 with 87% on RT (89% audience).

It's overall well-received... of course the people who hate it will try to make their voice loud and annoying so that everyone knows how they're "wrong."

Man of Steel has a 56% rotten and people on these boards seem to love it.

What's your point? Who cares?

Some people like certain things, some people don't. That's all there is to it. There's no reason to cry "woe is me" when other folks don't feel the same way you do, whether someone likes it or not. That's ridiculous. How come people get so offended when people don't like something on here, but when people are loving it and hyping it up making it seem like it's the best thing since sliced bread, nobody questions it?

It's just opinions. People either like something or they don't. This place would suck hard if we all sounded like drones agreeing on the same damn thing over and over again, gushing over the same things without prejudice.

Re: <> Dark Knight Rises - Selina Kyle - OMG Photo Review - Part 1 / Part 2 @ 13 <>

??

I'm saying everyone doesn't hate it and it's well-received. It seemed Mag felt that generally, people thought otherwise.

Man of Steel has 7.7 imdb and 77% audience. It did okay with the general public as well. I didn't like it, but others seemed to. I don't have a problem with that.

Yeah, you're crying about it. Your reasons for not posting more often and being less active is one of the ridiculous things I've ever heard. I thought it was to take a break? Not because you don't want to hear people blasting a movie you like. That's extremely petty.

Some people don't like TDKR, so what? That should have no bearing on how you feel. Don't like seeing the negativity? Ignore it, don't read what someone says pertaining to the movie. It's as simple as that.

It sounds to me like it upsets you that the community as a whole didn't like a movie as much as you think they should have. I'm here to tell you there are other things to this community other than that movie to bring folks together and talk about common interests (why we're all here in the first place).

TDKR shouldn't be the common denominator of this message board or it's community, and it isn't (that would be Iron Man :lol) There are other things to talk about and agree with and enjoy than simply TDKR, especially when there's multiple facet's to the character of Batman from comics to television to cartoons to movies.

Re: <> Dark Knight Rises - Selina Kyle - OMG Photo Review - Part 1 / Part 2 @ 13 <>

Mag!! Don't leave!! There are SOOOOO many people I don't agree with here. You know how many times I wanted to reply to someone that is spewing over exaggerated nonsense about things I like? I don't. Because I know it will go no where. I only participate when I feel I can engage in a non fanboy filled conversation.

Of course, when the BS reaches critical levels...hell, I don't blame you for leaving, I'd hightail it out of there as well.

But...don't leave man! Take a breather and come back thicker skinned than before.

You don't hear too good do you.

I said it was part of the reason I spend less time here.

I needed a break for several reasons, and I'm not going into all of that here. I've checked back periodically and the persistent negative tone about TDKR = less draw for me to come back "full time".

Sarcasm? :(

I completely understand what your saying, 1 negative comment sometimes leave a mark on people more than 100 good comments. But do realize when talking about TDKR an overwhelming amount of people world wide LOVED IT.

The issue on here is that the negative comments are sometimes by the same people and they dont stop posting, so it seems like theres a lot of negativity, but there really isnt.

If you need some happy thoughts, for me the TDK Trilogy are my favorite movies of all time along with OT Star Wars. I will collect anything they put out for the TDK Trilogy. I even own a 1:1 replica of the Batman Begins suit and weaponry.

Love all the HTs figures they have done. I cant wait to get Catwoman. She was my most wanted figure. I thought they did an amazing job with Bane's figure. I think its one of the best figures they have done for the trilogy and was my figure of the year until Loki. :)

There are far far far more of us fans out there than people who didn't like it. Don't let a few discourage you. Just ignore them.
If you ever want to talk about the trilogy, count me it :)

I did take a breather. A long one this time. And you know what else I've noticed since coming back? Every figure discussion thread is like a broken record. I'll give you just one example: in this thread you have people posting pics of the proto vs. the production piece. The comments of, "What happened Hot Toys?!" are just so damn old. Production always looks different than proto. And 95% of the time it's just because of a different paint job.

After a break the complaining just seems more obnoxious. Why spend a ton of time here if its just to "ignore" so much negativity and nonsense?

You mean comprehend. You're not talking when you post and I'm not listening when I read.

Whole, part, it doesn't even matter. I even stated in my posts "reasons" (as in, I noticed you have other reasons for not being active). You mentioned it as a partial reason, I'm stating that that partial reason is ridiculous.

Is all I need to read to tell that it bugs you.

You know the reason I signed up on this message board? Because of The Dark Knight. I signed up in 2008 with Bank Robber Joker on my mind. I love The Dark Knight, I love Batman Begins, but I hate TDKR with a seething passion. Oh well.

But there you go, that's two ties that kind bind. Two things that we can agree upon and discuss. Common interests if you will.

You like Star Wars? I like Star Wars. Let's talk about that.

You like LOTR? I like LOTR. Cool.

The blunt of my posts in here is that there's more to this community than TDKR and even if you don't agree with someone on one thing, you can probably see eye to eye and find a common interest with something else.

The mask Soft and hard plastic , it's very fragil tying to turn the goggles for the different position is nerve racking, you feel like its going to snap, be warned !!! take your time and use both hands.

:1-1: I do miss the good old days.

Forum has not changed much dude ;) still some good freaks here and new decent freaks joining but of cause also new jerks and new levels of overbloated egos on these boards.
My simple rule nowadays
- keep low profile (post less)
- don't post any negative comments especially against other freaks
- skip posts of typical offenders, whole pages without pictures really
- don't give up on your good friends you made here because of bullies that don't deserve your attention
Anytime you want to talk about how totally awesome BB/TDK/TDKR was just PM me ;)

yup, exactly how i have felt too. I dont post that much and been on here for 3 years. Lately ive decided that this forum needs more positive comments from people who enjoy collecting like myself.

The arguments are definitely like a broken record. Same people, same comments. over and over. gets so old.

Re: <> Dark Knight Rises - Selina Kyle - OMG Photo Review - Part 1 / Part 2 @ 13 <>

I have nothing to add right now DiFabio. Maybe a little less "ridiculous" and "petty" talk and I'd be up for it. As it stands, I have nothing else to talk about with you in a TDKR related thread because no good can come of it.

Perhaps we will have something more to say on one of the topics you mentioned at some point.
