Re: <> Dark Knight Rises - Selina Kyle - OMG Photo Review - Part 1 / Part 2 @ 13 <>

I have nothing to add right now DiFabio. Maybe a little less "ridiculous" and "petty" talk and I'd be up for it. As it stands, I have nothing else to talk about with you in a TDKR related thread because no good can come of it.

Perhaps we will have something more to say on one of the topics you mentioned at some point.

I think this Catwoman figure looks pretty good. :huh

I'm excited about adding the cowl to my Hong Kong jump Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Are you going to take pics? What images do you have in mind?

Did you ever get a Batpod to put her on?

Planning on making any modifications?

Do you like what you see?

Are you getting the '89 Batmobile?

Re: <> Dark Knight Rises - Selina Kyle - OMG Photo Review - Part 1 / Part 2 @ 13 <>

I appreciate the posts guys. They do make me feel a little better. :duff

I completely understand what your saying, 1 negative comment sometimes leave a mark on people more than 100 good comments. But do realize when talking about TDKR an overwhelming amount of people world wide LOVED IT.

The issue on here is that the negative comments are sometimes by the same people and they dont stop posting, so it seems like theres a lot of negativity, but there really isnt.

If you need some happy thoughts, for me the TDK Trilogy are my favorite movies of all time along with OT Star Wars. I will collect anything they put out for the TDK Trilogy. I even own a 1:1 replica of the Batman Begins suit and weaponry.

Love all the HTs figures they have done. I cant wait to get Catwoman. She was my most wanted figure. I thought they did an amazing job with Bane's figure. I think its one of the best figures they have done for the trilogy and was my figure of the year until Loki. :)

There are far far far more of us fans out there than people who didn't like it. Don't let a few discourage you. Just ignore them.
If you ever want to talk about the trilogy, count me it :)

Unfortunately, the ship has already sailed, so to speak, when it comes to TDKR. I've had the discussions [read: debates] about it that I'm going to have here already, and I'm burned out. I've had plenty of refreshing conversations about the deeper meanings that the film has for me and why it's my personal favorite of the Trilogy with real world friends and family.

What bothers me is still coming upon negative comments about TDKR in TDKR collectibles threads.

Forum has not changed much dude ;) still some good freaks here and new decent freaks joining but of cause also new jerks and new levels of overbloated egos on these boards.
My simple rule nowadays
- keep low profile (post less)
- don't post any negative comments especially against other freaks
- skip posts of typical offenders, whole pages without pictures really
- don't give up on your good friends you made here because of bullies that don't deserve your attention
Anytime you want to talk about how totally awesome BB/TDK/TDKR was just PM me ;)

Good advice. I used to read literally every post in threads that I was especially interested in. Can't imagine ever doing that again.

yup, exactly how i have felt too. I dont post that much and been on here for 3 years. Lately ive decided that this forum needs more positive comments from people who enjoy collecting like myself.

The arguments are definitely like a broken record. Same people, same comments. over and over. gets so old.

I'll try to throw in a few positive comments here and there. :)

No 1/6 vehicles for me. Just too big.

No modifications planned for this. She looks great to me.

Actually, all the modification business with the DX11 (not even sure if that's the right code anymore) Batman is a much larger contribution to my burn out. I have no desire to go that deep down the modification rabbit hole again. I haven't even been able to bring myself to step back into the thread I started about it...

No kidding, that was quite the comprehensive documentation that you made.

Did you see what the 1/4 Batman looks like now? Would you be pissed if Hot Toys unveiled a "DX 3.0" that looked similar and "bettered" all the hard work and $$$ you put into fixing their problems?

Re: <> Dark Knight Rises - Selina Kyle - OMG Photo Review - Part 1 / Part 2 @ 13 <>

Oh, and yes, I do look forward to taking pics of this figure. The only problem I have with her is the way the hair meets the face. I have a feeling that will be much less noticeable at normal viewing distances, and I want to try to take pictures that exemplify that.

Actually, I would be thrilled. This is a big admission here... but both of my DX 2.0's are sitting in a shoe box in pieces. I could be displaying one of them, but I want to replace the cowl with an unpainted MRM head I have. The other is half way into the disassembling process. I just got so overwhelmed with it all, I couldn't look at him anymore. I might not be cut out for such dramatic alterations.

If HT came out with a 3.0 that met my complete satisfaction, I would probably buy 2 and sell both of my 2.0's for parts.

That probably won't happen though, so I'll have to man up and finish mine at some point...

Haven't seen the 1/4 scale in a while. Will go check now.

I hope I get early processing on CW like I did with widow

No way. You're one of my favourite freaks. :1-1: I just noted that your comment about why you don't hang out here as much was in response to me saying that I'm not as big a fan now of TDKR as I was when I left the theatre. After I saw the movie I was down for PO'ing the whole shebang, batpod, Selina, Bats etc. Now a bit of time has passed I realise I was taken by the hype of the movie and my enjoyment has been tempered by time - so I cancelled my POs. I didn't mean to bring down the good vibes.

No worries. :1-1:

But it's not "my own thread", which is why I though you were being sarcastic, as if to say: "it's not your thread, so people can say whatever they want". Which is true, of course.

I'm sorry to make you feel unwelcome in your own thread Maglor :monkey2

Let's just say you're more heavily invested in this thread's subject matter than most. I'm not sure there's a bigger TDKR fan in here :)

He's around, I last saw him in the 'let's see you' thread - it wasn't that long ago. He can't be too far away from these bat threads :)

I don't see him a lot in the DC sectiona anymore....or anywhere else for that matter. But like Lejuan said he does post in the 'lets see you thread.'

There's a few cool people I don't see post as much as they used to and because of it the conversations aren't as interesting anymore. For me.

I've been hanging out in the Star Wars threads mostly these days.

I did the same thing when I got burned out on the DC/Nolan Bat section. The SW section is a real cool place to hang. The customs guys are great over there too

Re: <> Dark Knight Rises - Selina Kyle - OMG Photo Review - Part 1 / Part 2 @ 13 <>

I just wish ppl get a daily cap on post and that would cut down on the clutter and make this more efficient and easier to read and follow. Also I wish there was a rep system so I can just rep the good guys and neg rep the ones with poor etiquette further limiting their ability to post

I second this

Guys, while I appreciate the sentiments, you misunderstand my motivation... well partly anyway.

I have gotten better at taking what people say on the Internet with a grain of salt, and if folks dislike something I like, it generally doesn't bother.

This is a little different.

Nolan's Batman and the associated collectibles have been 80% of what I discuss here. When I saw TDKR, it was like this glorious and emotional ending to one of the greatest Trilogies of my time. After seeing it, I couldn't wait to come here and celebrate with the ones I've been sharing the experience with for so long. Instead, I was just met with so much negativity (with a few notable exceptions). I didn't expect that, and it was just so in-your-face and pervasive. To this day, I don't understand why people want to leave the series with such a sour taste. It so easily can be seen as a brilliantly well-rounded conclusion. But with so many fellow Freaks repeating all the things they believe is wrong with it over and over, it's very much like someone pissing in your Cheerios morning after morning. That **** gets old, especially when its coming from the very people you would have liked to share the experience with.

I wish the excitement surrounding the Trilogy could have been kept up and shared for a while rather than this decisive wedge being stuck into the community.

Thankfully my wife and I, and many of my IRL friends and family, love TDKR. And I don't need to go on the Internet to talk to them.
I liked TDKR too. It fell short at some places but it was an overall good experience and a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.

When I was new here, I used to be easily influenced and drift towards the majority even if I wasn't in agreement. That's changed though. I like what I like and I make it known. 'You are the only person on the planet to like it'. Fine, I give two hoots bout it and even if others think otherwise, it won't make me sway into not liking it.

Speaking of which, what ever happened to intothevoid?
Boid. Call him boid now :D

Back on topic, doesn't the googles folded at the back make them look like cat's ears??
